And when professional truck drivers also loses common sense it's getting serious. There is a mountain track/trail in southern Norway that keeps collecting trucks which are led into it by their SatNav. A quick glance outside the truck or even on a map should have made them worry a lot for a quite a distance. Then they're stuck without any possibility for turning the vehicle and have to be helped down from the mountain. Takes half a day.

All my SatNav maps have had quite a number of bugs, and I regard their directions only as advisory.

Thay are an aid to navigating only. And a very good one if used properly and the limitations are understood!

I decided to follow my first satnav for a journey that I already knew the best route for, just to see why it was trying to send me a different way.
I was driving down the hill from Biggin Hill towards Westerham so that I could eventually get on to the M25 clockwise. Half way down the Hill, it wanted me to turn left, so I did; it took down some nice country roads, then tracks, past a farm to a hedge with a gap in it. Guess what was the other side of the gap - the M25. That was an interesting junction.
Once you start using satnavs, you very soon realise the limitations, and act accordingly by double checking if something seems not quite right.
Despite the weaknesses I wouldn't be without one.

It isn't just sat nav that ended common sense, seems to me that it died a long long time ago!!

I presume that it was either an older Honda disk or another satnav system.
The 2006 disk luckily doesn't have this 'feature' as it would probably want to send me this way onto the M25

This was an old Blaupunkt, not Honda/Alpine system, which was generally superb.
It was just an early lesson in satnav quirks.
