Mostly it's a Vauxhall Corsa or VW Golf that seem to be afflicted with this.

A quick blast of the windscreen wipers did the trick for me earlier on the A1. The Audi closely behind wiped their screen and dropped back.

I've previously been a brake tapper with tailgaters, but not since I've had the Civic as I've been wary about the EBS and other stuff tripping.

Had some twit in a mitsubishi shogun behind me earlier on today
it was on a local road with a 30 limit which I was just over
and I had seen him coming for half a mile or so and once
he caught up to me he was right on my tail
so I just lifted my foot and he could do nothing but back off

Tailgaters

I find that its best to not let them get that close in the first place.
If you can see someone approaching fast, then touch your breaks a couple of times well before they arrive!
This is safer for both of you, they will be psychologically weary of getting close!

I drive @ 1000 motorway miles per week on business and the main problem that I encounter is the following - Driving at 70mph and approaching a car. I pull to the outside lane (They are nearly always a MLM) to pass. Get alongside and find them speeding up! End up driving at 70+.... just to pass! When I have past, they then slow back down to 65mph and still stay in the middle lane!
What is that all about?

I wish that I had persued that job application for the Police all of those years ago. I would love to do Traffic Duty!
