Number Plates (Moan)
O.K as some people are aware I visited my dealer today to give them a cheque for the balance on my new CR-V which is due week beginning 16th July and whilst there he produced a list of registrations for me to choose from all of which started 'TF' ( being in scotland our registrations have always started with an 'S' (well since 2001) but I was told that we were no longer to get these) and so I had to go with the 'TF'
but I'm not happy Anyone in scotland just registered their car in the last month or so heard anything about this ?? |

My car is an LC, I don't want people to think I am a Londoner! How daft does that sound...... although I would not want Reading plates, might think it was a Honda corporate one, would never want a BMW in Yorkshire, all BMW fleet and scheme cars are registered there, spend all that money and people think you got it at a brucey bonus discount price just cos you build Minis. Surprising how many Z4's there are round Oxford on Y plates.
T suffixes were never included in the original format, wonder why they changed? |

Or even better get the reg plate EC05 SSE ! Or SC02 MAN or TAR 14N or something of that ilk!! Edit, you can't have MAN as they're for the Isle of Man, but what about this: http://www.dvla-som.co.uk/home/en/Ca...2+GUY&m=2&v=56 Last edited by LNT; 10th July 2007 at 12:29. Reason: Addition |

Whilst we are moaning about number plates..........
Do all Honda dealers drill 2 holes ? I would have thought that double sided sticky would be the order of the day now ? Especially considering that screwed on ones are so easy to remove. A job in my hols is to remove the screws, cover the holes in the tailgate and use a plethora of double sided to make it very difficult for them to be stolen easily. |

Screws at least have the added security of needing tools to do a decent job of removal, taped ones could be pulled off.
Or am I missing something |

Seriously tho - has the entire world gone mad? Who - anywhere - would possibly be offended by seeing a car with the reg 'SN07'? And more to the point - our car tax is paying for someone to sit in an office somewhere and make these decisions! |
