I think the Audi one was a bit pathetic really when you consider that what BMW won was for a car that everyone will drive, rather than racing wins and is therefore much more relevant to a normal driver. I mean, how many people buy a normal road car based on a manufacturers racing victories?

Having said that, I don't like BMW so I wasn't defending them as such. Just thought it was very petty by Audi. Personally, I'd prefer an Audi to a BMW but not because of that advert.

I presume that there is somebody who does, otherwise why would manufacturers bother with racing.
Subaru's reputation is based on their success on the rally track.

I thought all of us bought Civics after being impressed by Honda´s unbelieveable success in F1.
