Your first ever car-what happened to it?
I have fond memories of passing my test(second time that was 25 years ago) and getting my first car, it was a Mk2 Ford Escort 1.3 Ghia, many days/ evenings of great memories and the feeling of freedom, it may have been a bit of a banger but it was "mine".
i only had it about 2 years when it was nicked from outside a Hotel me and her-in-doors were looking at for our wedding reception Any-howz what was your first car and what happened to it that made you swap it for something else. |

Swapped it for a brand new Corsa as they were giving away free insurance even to 18 year old Londoners like me, back then i was paying £3k+ a year! |

1.4 Golf SE 1996. Had stiffest clutch ever and I never really got used to it.
Changed to 1.6 CJ Colt after two years. Sold for 500 less than I bought for! Put me off VW for life. |

Hillman Hunter - original F reg... Flogged it and bought a Vauxhall Ventora
The Hillman was actually a bloody brilliant car but not for a crazy 17 year old. I blew the back axle... Then put a rod through the side of the engine. |

Chocolate brown Astra, NRG 376X off the top of my head, some 20 years ago.
Decided to jet wash it at work and put a hole through the front wing! It was truly a total shed on wheels, but I loved that car, freedom for the first time, going where and with whom I wanted. Part-exed for a F reg Cavalier at a garage owned by a family 'friend'. A couple of weeks later I asked who bought it and he said the scrap yard. I cried! |

1992 Honda Ballade 150 Luxline, in white
Wrote it off on the way to a group project session in college. It was raining and I got pushed out of my lane by a taxi. |

Hilman Imp super E reg.(1966) Did'nt realise how smooth it was, especially with the engine in the rear, until I drove my next car(van), a mk1 Escort 8cwt van-that vehicle could shift though.

Renault 5 GTL reg FCT 40V if I remember correctly! Had to get rid before next MOT as it had turned into a sieve in the wheel arches and would need a lot of welding. Plus everything got wet when it rained!

Suzuki SJ413 (Samurai) - Painted it lime green, put 8" of lift on it 33" Mud tyres, Roll cage, Winch bumpers... ahh what a car...
I wrote a Polo off with it, made the mistake of not declaring mods to my insurer (I have learnt from this) and it had to go ASAP. Went up to bonnie Scotland doing 4x4 time trials then last I saw was the winch bumpers and some of the axles on ebay and no longer registered with DVLA so assume scrapped |

My first was a 1.8 Ford Sierra. Was my dads first. He paid £110 for it with tax and MOT from a bloke at work. My dad had it for 6 years before me and I ran it for 3 years. It was in a pretty good shape for it's age but it was deadly in the wet! Rear suspension was awful and would kick the arse end around any chance she got. It helped me a lot to learn the subtle tell tales that you were driving too quickly for the road conditions
I sold it on for £120 in the end with no tax or MOT to a chap that wanted the engine and gearbox for a kit car. Car had a misfire by now and the heater matrix had long since given up so de-icing the interior side of the windscreen during the winter started to pee me off. Had no interest in spending much money on putting it right because it wasn't worth much by now anyway. £10 profit though for 9 years motoring Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk |

My own first car was the Corsa, which is still going strong. It's invincible. Survived 7 years in the salty air of the seaside in Scotland, several years in the manic city of London and hasn't skipped a beat despite knocking over a wall and driving through a tree. It's done the length and breadth of the UK and only broken down twice several years ago lol
My girlfriend now owns it and it's her trusty steed |

a turqouise 1993 corsa bought it 3.5 years ago for £250 it had more dents than i can ever imagine ragged the arse off of it then sold it for £250 after 4 months with no tax or mot when i sold it to the local trusty drug dealer. (the interior was colour coded to the exterior it was horrific but the engine was indestructable)
