I don't collect my Civic 'til Thursday but have already prepared a couple of .wma CDs, with the following included:

David Bowie
Queen
The Jam
Blink 182
The Smiths
REM
The Beatles

I also have all the tracks in mp3 format just in case the CD player doesn't like my .wma discs. I really ought to get into some 'modern' artists, half my music collection dates from before I was born!

Peter Gabriel "Signal to Noise" is great for making passengers say "What the #@@!?" when a journey starts to get tedious. In fact, a lot of PG's records seem do that to people for some reason.

Tom Petty "Running Down a Dream" helps you break the speed limit with aplomb. As does "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen.

I also have a penchant for a bit of Devo, but only when I feel like giving the engine a good thrashing!

Layla, IMHO, is arguably the most dangerous track for inducing air guitar at the wheel, while The Doors or Booker T & The Mgs (particularly Green Onions) are both great for a bit of dashboard keyboard/piano.

Actually, like Allan I mostly listen to Queen in the car. "I'm in Love with My Car" is especially good at the traffic lights with the windows rolled down. Has scared many a Burberry clad, Fiesta driving Chav in recent years.

Perhaps people should also post what "air" instruments they play at the wheel? Guitar, drums, piano and sax are all within my repertoire, although I know I shouldn't

Hi jayt, if you like guitar then that 'TWANG' Cd I mentioned is good if you like any of the Shadows. Guitarists like Richie Blackmore, Brian May, Tony Iommi, Hank Marvin, Mark Knopfler, Peter Frampton and many others, give their own style to many of the Shadows great tunes. FBI by Brian May and Midnight by Peter Green, brilliant.

I only encode my MP3's to "CD quality" so only about 8 albums on each disc. Only got 4 or 5 discs in the car but on these I've got things like:-

Linkin Park - Every album

Limp Bizkit - Results may Vary

Poison - Best of

Chilli's - Greatest hits

Gun - Swagger & Gallus

Whitesnake - Deffinitive collection

Joe Satriani - Greatest hits (Now that is a real guitarist!! )

Black Eyed peas - both albums

Eminem - Curtain Call

Metallica - Every album from "Justice" to "St.Anger"

Thunder - Back Street Symphony

Skid Row - Self titled Debut

Guns'n'Roses - All of'em

Motley Crue - Red White & Crue

And a couple of others.
