Very tempted by one of these (great screen and UI, but shame about the storage), or even the 160GB classic (great storage, but shame about the screen) to keep me going until the Touch gets a decent capacity.
I wonder if the new models remain compatible with the Honda Link? |

As a cool object, that looks very cool!
But it's a million miles away from what I want in an mp3 player. I need: No DRM. FLAC capable. Huge capacity. Small size. Robust, inside pocket capable. Folder browsing. Very high quality audio circuitry. I think I'll be sticking with what I have. |

And what do you have Pottsy ?
I'm looking for a Mp3 player of your standard, I don't need pictures or video, I'm mainly listening classical music and main use will be in travel (train) listening... |

Iaudio X5 60Gb. Although I haven't compared it myself, it's well known that it has extremely high quality audio circuitry. Coupled with my Westone UM2's, it's the best sounding hifi gear I have ever heard. Just about to be replaced though...

I ordered the new iPod Nano last night for when I'm in the gym.
I may yet sell my brand-new Archos 605 wifi touchscreen for a good price if anyone is interested - 30gb model..... I could be tempted by the iPod Touch purely for the fact that the whole family use iTunes and various shuffles/nanos etc.... |

Can I suggest that those of you that want a mass storage device for all your tunes, and intend, as I do, on putting it straight in the glove box anyway, go for the new iPod Classic available in 80 or 160 GB forms.....
£159 for an 80GB iPod Classic IS a bargain in my book. The Touch is a strange one by Apple (and believe me, I'm VERY pro apple!), as has been previously said, it's capacity is wo-ful, and I'm not sure why anyone would buy one rather than just wait for an iPhone......I really don't know who they were aiming that one at to be honest - maybe it was just a case of 'look what we can do' exercise. |

I expect the iPhone will come locked with a phone contract to only one of the networks (O2?), and at a premium price too. Many (not all, of course) people out there are perfectly happy with their current handset and network, and for these, the Touch will appeal. Much as I like Apple gear, if the iPhone UK model didn't have 3G and was not offered by my current network, I wouldn't consider it. |

iPhone will ONLY be available on O2 Paul, and will NOT be subsidised in any way by the network (i.e. You can't get one free on contract) - it'll be £399 and thats it. Take it or leave it.
3G is still up in the air - Apple are working hard to try and convert the US 'EDGE' system to make the iPhone 3G compatible before its release in Europe, but dont hold your breath. To me, 3G is looking very much like a 2nd Gen feature...........one day.......... |

The only difference I've yet noticed is the appearance of the 'H' screen, and no message about "it is OK to disconnect" is displayed. Other than that, the controls and playlist behaviour seemed identical. |
