Home heating grants

Myself and my girlfriend have viewed a house that we are really keen on (we're first time buyers), however, one thing with the house is that it is all electric with electric storage heaters.

I am currently looking at options for the installation of a gas central heating system for the house if we were to buy and a few people I have spoke to informed me that when they done the same they got a grant to help or in some cases fully install their system.

I've searched all over the net but can only find grants available for those on benefits or non working families with kids with nothing available for standard full time employed and full tax paying people. Does anyone know of anything going that we could take advantage of to help us out in the situation?

I am also in Scotland as I know these sort of things and their availability can vary across various parts of the UK.

Dunno about a grant for the actual heating installation but i got money back from the national grid when i got my heating done, was no gas supply into the house so i had to pay to get that done, few weeks after it was done a letter dropped through the post thanking me for switching to gas with a nice wee cheque attached

Look at ground source or air source, ground source would be best.

These kinds of grants are only for home owners, also try looking into solar panels aswell. The energy you don't use, you can sell back to the energy company.

good things like that don't happen to people that work and pay tax.

£2000 i paid for a new system and radiators.

Got underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom - kits off ebay - bathroom £50 / kitchen £100
