Fuel Prices going up again

On the news this morning........

Sweet crude oil has reached it's highest price per barrel ever and in about 4 to 6 weeks we will be hit with rocketing fuel prices - again.

At a guess I reckone £1.10+ a litre ?

It's the US$ price which has hit a record high, this is in part due to the continuing weakness of the dollar. If the US do cut interest rates as predicted then the £ will apreciate against the dollar and some of this increase will be lost. So it shouldn't go that high.... hopefully!

This is a subject which brings two different reactions in me:-

I work in petrochemical contracting, so one part says "Good! More projects will go ahead", but when I have to fill up the car, to get to work to carry out those projects, then it's a different story ......

But I agree with Essexboy - I don't reckon crude prices will stay at todays level.

P.S. I'm working on a bio-ethanol (petrol additive) plant at the moment - gigantic amounts of wheat in at the front end, and finest 200proof alcohol out at the other - shame to put it in petrol really.....

It's 96.9p down here last time I went for a squirt

Teccos are doing their gnats for 94.9p but it doesn't run that well on it compared to BP

Petrol is about 92p here at sensibly priced stations, the rogue ones are more like 95/96p

I've just filled up at our Tesco station in Rugby. 98.9 per litre for 97RON but with 5p per litre off with the shopping voucher, it came down to 93.9 per litre for Super Unleaded.

£40 to fill up came down to £38. Not bad for a full tank.

We never get £50 in one go at Tesco's because it's within walking distance.

She goes every day and gets a couple of bagfulls.

And again October.

Gordon Brown's final budget back in March contained a 2p/litre increase as of October 1st.

105.5p for diesel down here in Devon.
It was always about 1p dearer than petrol, prior to me buying my 2.2.
I blame it all on George Bush, even Kate Bush

Around Cambridge at Esso unleaded is 100.9p, diesel 105.9p.
How come the difference has gone up so much in the last month?
For a long time it was 1 to 2p max.
