Holiday Insurance Question...

Meant to be going to Egypt on Thurs, if i was to take out holiday insurance now and then cancel the holiday (getting no refund due to it being so close to departure date) i presume i would need a pretty good reason to be able to claim the cost of the holiday back?

they would smell a rat, buying the insurance then making a claim.
to pull it off, youd have to looking at death in the family

Question is if the terms even allow you to claim for something purchased prior to signing up for the insurance.

There are usually all sorts of restrictions including known events at the time of purchase. I take it you booked a holiday without insurance and something has now cropped up ?

Correct, it was a long shot and too be honest i thought that the general consensus would be that they wouldnt fall for it!! Unfortunately didnt get round to buying the insurance yet!! Annoying really because my yearly cover only ran out last month, didnt renew because i didnt think i would be going away again untill next year

Ah well, will have to see if i can sell it on and change the names!

1 Week all inclusive to Sharm el Sheikh leaving Thursday anyone?? lol

Why can't you go?

I got my holiday refunded because I broke my leg the day before, playing football. But, they'll obviously need proof of this.

However, I'd be willing to break your leg for you.

Changing names on air tickets isn't as easy as it used to be.

I've heard of people having to buy new tickets due to spelling mistakes and the fact that tickets cannot be changed.

But, good luck.

Grievance in my gf's family meaning she cant go. Non of my mates can get the time off at such short notice.

Will cost £260 to change both names on the booking.

It is at a popular kitesurfing destination, with all the sports equipment on the plane booked etc so i have advertised it on a kitesurfing forum.... FINGERS CROSSED!!

Have you tied the holiday company - usually they are sympathetic at times like this (assuming you have booked a package)
