Fifth Gear

We are not alone -

Their tests of the Z4 and the 350Z v the handheld speed camera showed that those 2 also over read by about 5mph.

I just think digital is more noticeable.

This is good really as the more people who's cars overead the slower everyone will be driving, even when they think they're going quickly.

I know that it's a legal issue that speedo's may not under-read. Therefor all speedo's do over-read, but with different margins apparently. And I guess the overall fault is bigger at higer speeds, too. (proportional?)
Also, tyre pressure and tyre wear contribute to this.

Funny enough, the error seems less at higher speed, so is not proportional as you would expect.
The legal difference I believe is 10%. At low speeds, (<25mph) the error is greater than 10%, more like 15 or 20%!

As the tyres wear, the over-read worsens.

I am seriously considering following Pottsy's footsteps and installing a speedo healer to sort this out. I hate it. What makes is worse is that my driving school Corsa, which is a horrible, horrible excuse for a car, has a MUCH more accurate speedo. I mean spot-on at town speeds, and no more than 1 or 2 mph out at motorway speeds.
