That is bloody sad

"The 23-year-old, who said she had left school without a maths GCSE, said: "On one of my cards it said I had to find temperatures lower than -8. The numbers I uncovered were -6 and -7 so I thought I had won, and so did the woman in the shop. But when she scanned the card the machine said I hadn't."

"I think Camelot are giving people the wrong impression - the card doesn't say to look for a colder or warmer temperature, it says to look for a higher or lower number. Six is a lower number than 8. Imagine how many people have been misled."

I reckon it actually shows more the type of folks that buy the cards, schooling in this country is the pits no matter what trhe goverment spout about improvements.

Mmmm - should these people not be used to the concept of minus numbers?
...since that must be what they scored in Maths at school.

You're right, though - it is pretty sad.

Well that has given me the first laugh of the day.

I mean -6 is higher than -8, isn't it?

And we call the americans!

It is indeed a very sad day! Does this girl live in either Longsight or Moss Side by any chance?

I have very strong opinions about stupid people like this, but I fear they may provoke a strong PM from admin

Now come on medicsource, try to be understanding of these intellectually challenged people. It is inherited afterall so is it really their fault?

However, I suspect your suggestion of where they live might just be true.

I think my Honda is a bit thick as well. It pings a warning at +3deg C showing a picture of a snowflake on the computer. Maybe water freezes at higher temperatures in Japan !
