Hi, I have recently had a problem with my civic whereby all of the cars' electronics fail (including engine cut out). This happens when travelling at low speed (thankfully!) and when turning to the right. Seems like a loose wire in the ignition circuit (from the symptoms). The car's back at the dealer's for the second time for them to do a bit of fault-finding - the first time they just re-connected a loose earth wire but this didn't solve the problem.
Has anyone else has a simliar problem or is it just mine? Bunjamin. |

It sounds a little like this:
NEW Honda Civic ES (I-Shift) / major problem If you can find out from the dealer what it was, that would be good. |

Yeah, the fault does sound very similar to the i-Shift problem, however, my Civic doesn't have i-Shift fitted. Although I guess the problem could be of a similar nature. The dealer's have told me they've been able to replicate the problem by disconnecting certain earth wires but not while driving normally. The car's still at the dealers and the wait continues...

So, an update: I picked the car up from Honda yesterday evening.
They told me there was no obvious fault, although by disconnecting certain earth connections they could simulate the fault. They had completely stripped down all the electrics on the ignition circuit and by doing this they think they may had indirectly cured the problem! So not a definite answer really. They said to see how I go with the car and if the fault returns to take it back to them and they'll fit a kind of 'black box' which records all sorts of data in the car. I think this will help them pinpoint the cause of the problem. So for now, fingers crossed!! Bunjamin. |
