My first post to say that I am delighted with my EX.
This thread however, stikes a cautionary note with me since VSA is a safety feature which influenced my choice of this car. To hear that a faulty VSA system can cause a car to swerve is alarming, since you do not know it is faulty until it happens. It sounds like the self-test is not foolproof and the system is not dynamically tested, possibly it is not working at all, a cautious may never know. My expectation would be that it should not be possible for VSA to do anything other than make the car go in the direction in which it is being steered, from the description of this problem this may not be the case. Regards, pcr. |

Really wanted an auto box on the Civc, but unlike Audi / VW where the DSG actually increased performance, I couldn't live with the extra 2 seconds 0-60 that i-shift adds Launch control was a nice trick too but back to niggles and faults |

Agreed TT. Read a thread on the 4car forum where many users were saying the new Civic was riddled with faults, had atrocious build quality and that British workers couldn't put a car together for toffees (they conveniently forget to mention how well the previous model did in Fleet News and JD Power surveys).
Whatever marque, early adopters always run the risk of having teething problems with their new cars. But, even with the niggly faults people have experienced here, by and large the ownership experience has, for most people, has been a positive one. Of course, the rear-shock and HFT problems have put a downer on things for EX owners, although those not opting for that model are probably blissfully unaware of all the fuss! All told, I'd rather be problem solving new faults at Honda with the Civic, than at Land Rover (the Disco is not exactly a shining example of reliability), Citroen, Peugeot or Fiat (the Grande Punto is already proving quite troublesome with steering rack/power steering/door opening problems: http://www.fiatforum.com/punto-grand...ailed-mot.html ) So yes, maybe some Friday afternoon cars here and there, but probably far greater reliability and quality already with the Civic than some manufacturers achieve during the lifetime of production for certain models (Peugeot 206 anyone?) |

Reject the car, give the dealer a timescale to fix the problem, if no avail take the matter up with a solicitor, they HAVE to be able to repair the vehicle if not they are invalidating the warranty, and you will be entitled to a replacement. |
