Dent in passenger door

Some nice young lad has hit my passenger door with a golf ball and left a noticeable impression. I'm fairly sure I can get it fixed with a company I've used before but would anyone have any idea how much Honda would charge to pull a golf ball size dent out of a door panel - and maybe a light touch up of paint (I can't tell if it's needed, it's dark here at the moment)?

Many thanks if anyone can help.

If yours is silver chances are you'll need a respray of the door, as it's a difficult colour to blend apparently.

Yes it's best if you can get it repaired without needing paint.

If the dent does not have any sharp edges and the paint is O.K., down here in the West Country, my nearest Smart Repair place charges £85 per panel, regardless of how many dents they have to remove ( within reason).
They have their own workshop and really prefer it, if the car is left with them, rather than do it at you home.
Most Honda Dealers, will farm it out anyway.

"regardless of how many dents they have to remove"
I bet their 'within reason' wouldn't quite have covered the state of my last car! :S

mac - find the young lad that hit it and aim a golf ball at something that's precious to them....i'm sure you can think of something[s]

They consider 3-4 to be a fair number I would think minisweeper.
In the workshop, they can do it so quickly, as the most time is spent removing internal panels and replacing them.
Took my last car to them, - it had a dent on the front wing, just below the windscreen pillar. The guy said -- You can wait for it, as we can get to it above the door hinge. 20 minutes later, it was parked on their forecourt as good as new.
They won't go National, as they have all the work that they can handle down here in the South West.

Sound like good lads. The main problem with my last car is that some c***s had taken a key down the full length of both sides TWICE. And I reversed it into a wall. And I had a go at reversing with an extremely low and short wheelbase trailer which cracked my rear bumper. And my brother caught it on a wall on one side and a car on the other. And I caught it on a tyre on the floor at the driver training centre. And someone tried breaking into it and put a few dents in the passenger door. And AutoGlass refitted the windscreen badly so it leaked. And some t***s from manchester TWOK'd it one night and added a bit more to the list.

But it was still my baby though my civic is an absolute godsend and touch wood so far is still in almost perfect condition (TINY dent on the passenger door from the previous owner but literally almost invisible), 3 tiny chips in the boot from where the handbrake failed while it was parked on my drive and it rolled into my garage door, and a few kurbs on the wheels which my mate's gonna sort out in his body shop anyway.

I feel like I've gone to confessional....I sound like an awful driver!! :S I promise I'm not though! I've learnt from my mistakes indeed....if anyone dares damage my lovely pretty civic (including me) there wont be much left of them...

Minisweeper I can imagine any car on a forecourt trembling if you show an interest in it.

Thanks very much guys, I'll be making some calls tomorrow morning.
I was there as the kid did it and they got a hell of an earful. I realised, as I was asking for his contact details, that he was on the verge of tears!

Yes but why should you be out of pocket. I assume you'll be following it up with his parents.

Were you at a golf course? What was he doing knocking balls about anyway?

Jack - I like to think it was the car that was accident prone To be fair on it it was
a) a renault
b) a friday night car
c) an ex courtesy car
d) used by 2 learner drivers
e) gold
It never really had a hope in life...

I'm a manager at a golf course and the kid was part of a group of morons standing in the middle of the driving range, firing balls back towards the tee area. Our driveway lies behind the tee area. I'd stopped on the driveway to shout at them to get off of the range and as I went around the back of the car I heard the bang. Cue much louder shouting.

I'm not going to be out of pocket on this, I've got their details and I'm going to get them to pay for it. Currently on the phone to get a quote for the repair.

Well, it turns out that even though it doesn't look like much and there are only three very minor scratches that would probably polish out, the dent itself is too deep to simply pull out as the metal has been stretched. So it's all got to come off, be fixed and then resprayed to match.
Gonna be four hundred quid too. Good news is it looks like the family will pay for it. So arghhh but phew!
