I am almost at the end of my tether......
Hi,
Before I went away at Xmas (crabby year and decided to get away fom it all)..... anyhoo..... went out to the Civic to set it up as the manual says for periods of un-use: Result was went to open my glove box to get the book out only to find the handle came away!!!!!, so I trot round to the passenger side, and find that the plastic trim in the door (the bit between the sill and the carpet), has also come off, and to top it off I have to go back to the dealer where I bought it to get my bumper strips replaced as the ones on there were faulty..... I just feel that they have let down such a great (truly epic IMHO), with crappy quality materials (put it this way, the jeep I had for my Action Man when I was younger was IMO constructed from more suitable plastic!). Honda are doing the glove box under warranty (whole new glovebox needed, and I've told them damage the dash in any way and that'll be new too, as they admit they have to smash the door to get it open/off Rant-over. Thanks mate, couldn't believe it especially as I was flying out in a couple of hours and couldn't exactly "pop to the dealer".
I hope yours is a good 2008 too mate, Tom |

This car should have been so great and yet it is so mediocre (and I don't remember the test car having any of these problems, I was extremely rough with it purposefully). Btw TC, thanks, I'm gonna get it sorted or else (eyes twinkle with a 'going postal' glint Tom |

Sorry to hear of your problems Tom.
You were glowing with joy, when you first got the car. It will get sorted though, as I have been there Mate. As for recycling, which is all fine on paper, tell me about it. I am having problems with recycled building materials now and the buck stops with me. |

I'm not that old mate
JTL: Thanks mate, recycling is all well and good, but if the goods don't last for their intended life then what use is that either. Thanks for all the kind words, it just took the shine of what is my first new car and it was a present too! Still I'll get it sorted one way or another. All the best Guys (and Gals), Tom |

I'm also loosing faith in the build quality too. I have now been back to the dealer twice, once for a broken plastic trim that was fitted at the factory, and the second for the wipers making a clicking sound. Just to top things off I have found that there were screws missing on the body kit, the cover underneath the bonnet was nt put in correctly, and the screen washer tube came off in my hands.
On Monday I have to take the car in as one of the rear seat belts is nt registering on the system. I thought that Peugeot was sh*t but a brand new 3 month old Honda, its not good enough! The reason that I brought a new car was because I did nt want the hassle of things going wrong, how wrong can you be! |

Also when I fitted the spare wheel I found,..... a loose nut wedged under the carpet, can't figure out for the life of me where it came from as it was not one i'd removed (all those went straight into a tray and were placed seperately, in order). Honda won't take any notice though, but I'm tempted to ring them and let them know, btw get a note of everything they do under warranty, I do, that way when you sell the car, there is a list that all fixes have been done. The dealer looked at the wipers and told me that the clicking noise was normal, and that it was the relay switching on and off! I asked him why it was louder when its used for a long period of time, which he could nt answer? I think that its down to the cheap relays that they use, I have never had this in my previous cars!
