Well - I would have to be blind and deaf to not notice mine, BTW I did not know of Civinfo when I got the car, I began to search for a forum after I encountered faults, so certainly in my case if there was any prejudice then in terms of expecting too much for the (not cheap) price. Putting it simply, my previous car was a lemon and I thought Honda will beat it beyond comparison in terms of reliability, and it did not. Hard luck - one learns for a lifetime and must still die silly - now my front struts are replaced the Civic is really great to drive, and let's hope it stays that way. If I keep it when my leasing is over - I don't know, certainly if not, I would have a very hard choice to make in terms of alternatives (not being eager to pay a lot more for a premium car that gets stolen 3 days later)

THAT IS JUST NOT TRUE

If you have issues and are not happy then you have good reason to complain and contact Honda but do not assume that we are all in the same boat

Sorry Guys I have to agree with brodick here.

You are nt the only one having a bad experience. I brought my car from the Enfield (North London) dealership, and have had nothing but hassle. I spoke to a guy there this week who was waiting for his car and he had the same experience. Sales were rubbish, they lost my paper work and tax disk on the new car (I waited 3 hours), lost the keys to the car I part exchanged and even called me about them. Forgot to take my cheque for the new car, and fill in the log book for my part exchange, I had to remind them.

And Services do not seem much better, I've been there twice this week for a new seat belt buckle as the switch has packed in on one side, they ordered the wrong apart, meaning that I have to go back for the 3rd time when the part arrives. If its wrong this time I'm going to shout at them and demand something in return for all the hassle! Also write to Honda UK!

I cant spend hours hanging around there dealership! Its not good enough, these guys do this for a living day in and day out, what the hell are they playing at????

.......

this really is amazing. How can the second largest company in Japan make these stupid mistakes? And who is too blame? Do they even know?

If you speak to all civic owners before the latest one they would tell you how amazing their car is, but the new one...hmmm....My friend still laughs when i tell him about my rattles and he drives a Vauxal/Opel for F&^ck sakes!!...

Can anyone in here speak Japanese? Give Honda Japan a call!!

Agree with you there Brodick. My civic is fine and the quality is excellent. Its a shame a tiny minority have to run it down making out likes its thousands of vehicles. Posts like this just spoil a forum.

Dont get me wrong I sympathize with the few people who have problems but please dont make out that its all civics as that just isnt the case im afraid.

Well that's called free speech you know - after all, anybody who is absolutely happy with his Civic can also air hers/his views here. It's true that dissatisfied owners will be more prone to become active than satisfied ones, but what bothers me a little is the "they spoil the forum" attitude

Just think: if we start a politically correct "don't say anything controversial" forum here, we may as well delete it altogether.

People, people, let's relax a little. Both points of view are valid to be fair. There are a fair number of people who are happy with their cars on this forum, me being one of them, but then there are a fair number of people who are not happy with their cars, maybe that is you Civicfan. But both are entitled to put their points of view across.

However, what does happen is that when someone, say myself, comments that they have no problems with their car or they praise their car, someone who isn't happy responds rather negatively to the poster, and/or tries to negate the positive feedback.

In my humble view, there are obviously people who have real problems with their cars and a forum like this is a great place to air those views and frustration - in some cases to the relief of the wife. But we cannot say that ALL Civic's are the same because that is not the experience of everyone who posts of the forum. We need to both support people who have problems or are seeking help with a problem and also be happy for those who don't have a problem. Both are valid posters - one is not better or worse than the other nor is the person who is happy making light of the problem the other person has.

I'm happy if people get what they paid for and have trouble free motoring... good on them I say.

But when those very same people start complaining that those who have had problems are 'spoiling' the forum, by posting about their problems, you have to nip that kind of implied censorship in the bud. If you don't, you can wave goodbye to any meaningful discussion (though perhaps that is the desired result?).

Well said - I have had no problems with my car but sympathise with those who have, surely this is the right place to discuss problems which affect your Civics

If we did nt write about these problems, you would nt be any of the wiser if you suddenly had a problem. Then you'd be complaining and wanting to know how to fix these issues. You know I'm right!

The problem with this country is that too many people just accept poor customer service and these problems. You pay good money for these cars and some of us end up paying for them for years, so why wear blinkers!

I don't think there is a problem with people sharing there problems on the site at all. I think it is a good way of helping others who are in the similar situation. Plus a joint effort can sometimes change the outcome of a situation with a company.

The issue of customer service is a seperate one. These forums are for likeminded people to express their views, both good and bad with others and receive comments about what they have written. The issue of customer service is between us and our dealers and is our choice whether to put up with poor service, complain or change dealer.

I actually think that the people who have NO problems get a worse reaction than those who have problems.

So I think we should call it a truce and accept that there are people with problems and those without. Plus those of us without problems may just have some one day, then what will we do?

Good point! I got an idea to this: let's create something like a "civic overall satisfaction rating", say 0 to 100% and take a vote on this say once a month - would be interesting to see it changing (and hopefully improving) with time

Could be an interesting experiment, actually.

I don't believe anyone on this site wishes to deny unhappy owners the right to describe and air their greviences with their car.

What (IMO) is in contention is any suggestion that the Civic is a fundementally flawed design.Given that tens of thousands of the cars have been sold, the dealerships would be inundatered with queue after queue of problem cars leading probably all the way back to the factory gates.

Well said. My spaceship is wonderful and has been since I picked it up as I am sure the vast majority are and certainly all the ones local to me all have happy owners.
I do get a bit weary of the same people slagging the car off I think in most cases most unfairly. Yes I`m sure that some owners have had problems the majority of which stem from the early cars but of the 160,082 civics that were sold in Europe in 2007 the vast majority have very happy owners so let`s have a satisfaction poll each month which should be most interesting and prove we are driving one of the great cars.
