Hey guys
Haven't posted something for a while. I was too busy fighting with my Dealer to get my scratched dash replaced. The one in front of the dials...we all know unfortunately. Anyway, lets face it, Honda made a SH&T load of mistakes with this car. Yes i know, no car is perfect, but hell, some mistakes are just dam rookie. A few months ago a local website posted some questions for Honda South Africa. Their answers was brilliant, but i know deep down they couldn't care less. They still haven't responded to the 3 emails i sent regarding my car. And all these emails returned a "read receipt". And from what i have read, it looks like no one has any luck with their dealers regarding some issues. So our only way to make sure the next generation civic doesn't have the same stupid problems is to go to the source of it all. HONDA HEADQUARTERS. When Honda SA was answering the questions, they left a email customers can use for complaints. I suggest that we ALL email them. They probably won't fix our problems, but at least they'll know and hopefully make sure this isn't the case with the next civic. Someone i know is friends with a Honda Sales Rep. He wanted to buy the new civic hatch, but this sales rep told him not to buy the car as they were getting a lot of complaints regarding the rattles. Enough Said! Here's the mail address: customer.care@honda-eu.com EMAIL THEM TODAY, even if you copy your forum posts. |

In my experience emailing doesn't do much good anyway. Emails are too easy to ignore or delete, if you do want your complaint to be taken seriously then put it on paper and post it to Honda. A few hundred letters are a lot harder to ignore than some lines on a screen that can be deleted at the touch of a button.

....so, we're doomed
hey Guys
i have emailed to this address before and it worked fine. But it looks like they have removed it, how typical. Anyway, i'll try to get hold of another one. I agree, a written letter has far more power, but it really depends who receives it. It can just as easily be tossed in the bin along with the others. And I am sick of spending valuable time writing letters to Honda. Email is just so much easier. I'll try to get a email address we can use soon! |

I can easily make sure it does not happen again - for me at least. I will NEVER buy a Honda again! Shoddy build quality combined with dreadfull aftersales/service!
First Honda and last Honda! |

The reason they get top marks for customer satisfaction isn't because there aren't any problems with their cars, just that the proportion of cars sold to cars with problems is low. The number of people on these forums only represents a small number of the overall buyers thus, we are not a true reflection of the whole picture. I think that if you look at other car forums, like I have done, you will see that problems affect all marques in some way of another. Mass produced cars have problems even the 'prestige' marques do to - believe me, I had one. I actually don't think it is Honda people have problems with per se I actually think it is the dealer who doesn't know how rectify problems or couldn't be bothered, or simply doesn't support the customer when a problem accurs. I have said somewhere else on these forums that I think customer service in the UK is falling and I don't know why, especially in an age where information is easily passed between people via the internet. |

hey
i see that there is some negativity towards the civic. Must say, i can't blame you. But you must understand what caused the whole problem. Firstly if you look at the build quality of the Jazz/Fit. It keeps on winning award after award for build quality. But how can this be? don't worry, i will tell you. If my memory serves me correct the Jaz/Fit was primarily built in Japan. If not all. This is the first time Honda outsourced the civic to Swindon. Now, I'm not saying that all the problems is because of that. I just think that the Quality Control was up to **** in Swindon. Somewhere someone didn't care and now they are paying for it. But if you didn't buy the civic, what would you have bought? Everything else looks so dam boring. No car is perfect, especially not the civic, but i will probably never drive something else than a Honda. It's something different. it really escapes the ordinary and thats what i bought. I can't wait for the next civic!! Will be interesting to see how they can top this design. |

Must agree, if it keeps up, I won't never ever ever buy another Honda, sadly as I love my car dearly (but the niggling problems annoy the ***** out of me). I thought when I bought mine it was Japanese, and no one in the showroom said different, even when I made a comment about Japanese build quality

I'm not just a "fan", it's just in 3-4 years of ownership, I never visited the stealers this much, and i've only had this car about 3 months.

I agree with you 100%.....
Somewhere, someone really F&^%ed up. Thats what I'm trying to avoid for the future of the civic. If other manufacturers followed the same futuristic styling I would support them. But Honda is the only company that took the leap. Unfortunately they spent too much time on the design and not on the technical aspects. I'm still trying to get that email address, but the lady I'm speaking to is kind of an idiot. Will have it soon. |
