Exclamation Can anyone identify this bit of car that has fallen off?

For a while I have noticed what looks like cotton wool hanging from the bottom of the car. Upon closer inspection, it appears that I have 4 cotton wool type thingies under each corner of the car. After getting down on my hands and knees to inspect (and also partly to pray that the garage takes notice of me next time I go in, to sort out my appalling rattles and knocking noises), the cotton wool thingy appears to be attached to a plastic clip, which came off when I touched it. Do I need to be worried that this has come off? Does anyone else have them and what on earth are they for? Please help! PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PICTURE

These should have been removed when he car was PDI'd there's been other threads about it. Contact your dealer and get them to remove them (and check the PDI was done correctly)

Thanks for that. By the number of problems I've had I would suspect that the PDI wasn't done properly. Are they just there for protection whilst car is in transit?

I think the question here is - has anybody had these removed at PDI ?

I had to remove all 6 of mine.

Plus don't forget the rubber bottom door bungs / rust collecters.

Glad I stumbled across your thread. A while ago I spotted some cotton wool hanging from the bottom of the car below the passenger door and proceeded to pull it off with the plastic clip attached. I was slightly concerned, so I have kept it in the boot ever since then and was going to ask the dealer about it at the next service.
Guess I can bin it now !

Seems strange that I came across it recently, considering the car is on an '06' plate and has been up on the ramp at the dealers on at least three separate occasions !!
Obviously the mechanics are very observant and check their work meticulously !
