Radio Reset?!??!

Hi,

I've had my 08 model Type-R for almost a month now, and I've noticed that the Radio resets itself for no reason sometimes!??

The first time it happened, I had an MP3 CD in and I clicked the "Channel Up" button on the steering wheel, all off a sudden it had a think then the radio turned itself off and then on again...was a bit strange and it made an acoustic pop (that's the technical term - seriously!). It also happened again when I changed track via the radio buttons too (but on a diff day)....happened 4 times in total, in 1 month.

Anyone encountered this yet? Thinking of taking it to the dealer and getting it sorted.

Cheers

Before going to the dealer - please check if your discs are "finalized" in the burning software, if they are not (e.g. if only the session is finalized), most players will reject them completely, and others will play them with problems and seek the next track long - which could be the "reset"... If it happens with pressed CDs however, it's definitely at least a dirty laser lens if not worse
Cheers

Thanks for the reply, but all my discs are finalized. Used them in all my other cars without trouble....it's definitely a fault with the software. It seems to get in an error state loop (which would explain the pause), then resets itself after a timeout period.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this or if mine is an isolised case?

Thanks

Hard to tell, mine is a 2006 and the only problem I've had with audio (apart of the lacking soundproofing in the doors) was the RDS not working, which was repaired by a firmware update. I think it might be possible that you got this update and the service guys had a faulty update disc or somehow managed to screw it up It may also be that your CD unit is simply faulty, anyway, a tip to the dealer

Not had the same problem, but I regularly get a split second of radio silence, happens very often, driving along listening to radio 1 and it just goes silent......only for half a second or so, but enough to make you notice, and often wait for the hands free to ring......as it goes silent when the phone rings!!
But it is not..........I know I need to go to the dealer but know it will probably not do it whilst there!!!

Thats what I thought, but it can happen about 10 times on a two mile journey, and happens even when stereo button is not flashing!
I know it's minor, but it's really annoying!!

No, my radio has no problems. I usually play audio and mp3 disks and the radio works well.

My radio once reset itself - whilst listening to the radio. Mines an 06 model, only occurred once in the time I've had the car - about eight months.
