Vandal ripped wing mirror off!
Just the other week my car was parked on the roadside in Torquay and a vandal (somehow!) managed to rip one of my wing mirrors off during the middle of the night. He wrote in the frost on the roof "SE 2008".
I never normally park there as was just visiting my girfriend at the time but the last time it was also vandalised but they only managed to twist it out of shape. I was actually quite impressed with how the wing mirror was able to "self-repair" when I twisted it back in place! Anyway, the previous incident was over New Year and i'd also noticed some other car wing mirrors on the road were broken so I figured it was some drunken revellers that got over-excited. But then this incident happened the very next time I parked my car on the road, almost 2 months after!! I've reported it to the police but they couldn't make any progress with it and probably never will. Safe to say I'll never be parking there again. But I wonder: could it be that my wing mirror was targetted because it was such a challenge to break (cos they failed the first time)?! After seeing the sturdiness of the hinge design within I'm almost impressed that they even managed to rip it off at all! PS. New wing mirror has left me £275 out of pocket since not worth claiming of insurance |

I'd be tempted to 'wire the mirror up' (or wait with an air rifle

And I thought I went ott, lol, jk (thats how I got my nickname 'Psycho', I'm a nice guy really). It is senseless vandalism (mind you is there any sense to vandalism?????).

Unfortunately not. The police insisted on showing over a thousand pics to sift through i.e. all criminals in the south west, even though we're sure the vandal was local. Oh, and the idiot left the initials SE on my car. Why they couldn't narrow down the search criteria is beyond me!

Not related to this incident but entirely relevent in my opinion. F***wits like this roaming our streets. They should be slaughtered and used as food for the wild animals in zoos and safari parks

I had this problem just before christmas, the brats from the local school used to challange each other to break of a wing mirror. After replacing the second one, I covered the wing mirrors in vaseline. We ended up catching a bunch of them cause we heard one of them give a very loud "ehww!"
Not had a problem since (not had to use vaseline either) |

I like that idea, I have little brats throwing stones as you drive past the school, so tempted to mount the pavement........
