'Screeching' sliding door / cover

Hi guys, is anyone else having problems with the sliding cover on the centre console 'cubby / cup holder hole', I have already had the whole thing replaced under warranty as when opening and closing it, it made a god awful screeching sound as the plastics rubbed together and the door 'runners' had carved out some lovely grooves in the plastic they run on. New one was installed and lovely and quiet, thought i would leave it open to prevent the grooves appearing again but last week needed to close the cover and low and behold....the screech was back and worse than before......arghhh!!! anyway, i believe i may have found a solution, tonight I applied some Halfords rubber and nylon lubricant (silicon spray) to the runners and yipeee nice and smooth and quiet again....stay tuned to see if it lasts though....

I think it's a "feature". I use "Sonax" silicone spray and as you say, it does the trick nicely.

No screeching from my cover. Having said that I rarely open it much further than 1/3 of the way back as I rarely store anything in it.

I use mine quite often mostly for the cup holders. And when it's empty I prefer to keep it closed. Looks better.

I guess I better look out for this issue as well.

Just remember, the more lube the better.
