[Damage] First accident :( :(
Had my first accident this morning when going to work. I was only 100 meters away from arriving when a lady came out of a parking area. I thought she had seen me coming because she was slowing down, but when i was 10 meters away from her, she drove out. I applied full brakes but when i saw it wasnt enough i tried to pass her on the left. But it was no use, she rammed my spaceship on the right side, the entire right side is going to need a replacement i think
i am still in shock i just got it back from the dealer two days ago and the car was superb plz make me feel better Last edited by Woette : 21st March 2008 at 11:13. |

Sorry to here that Woette.... Whilst annoying, at least nobody was hurt (other than pride) as cars are much easer to fix than us humans... I'm sure you will have your pride & joy looking like new in no time... All the best... Bob... |

Sorry to hear that! So it wasnt your fault. There are some situations which we just can't avoid. It can happen everywhere to everyone. Fortunately no one is hurt and in few days your car will be like new.

![]() But indeed, its a good thing no persons were hurt. I just heard about somebody at work whose daughter has been diagnosed with cancer, that puts it all in a good perpective. |

oh sh*t... Could be worse however, side crashes are among the most dangerous. If she was driving slowly maybe the damage is not that bad (?)

Oh dear, how frustrating! Sorry to hear about you little accident but thankfully no-one was hurt and your car wasn't very badly damaged, although it does look like a new door is needed!

Coming back from work late on the other week with a bit of snow blowing about the place. Came off the main road to cut through over the "tops", where the temperature had plummeted to -3 & obviously the roads hadn't been cleared. Cuatiously worked my way along there at approx 20mph behind some 15 year old shed of a Pug 106 & my Civic then decided not to follow the Pug anymore & instead nestle its way into the steepest ditch it could find... Came to a halt against a grass banking near enough on its side (cue Dukes of Hazzard exit out the passenger window!) with the highest point of the car below road level. Recovery fella came & towed it out, checked it over, couldn't see any problem & that was that. I then trundled home deciding I was the luckiest guy in the world... ... until the morning after when I spotted that the entire drivers side door has been pushed in & there's minor creases all the way down it. It's now booked into the body shop for next Monday for the tidy sum of 850 notes. Can't go through insurance as I'll get crippled for it so it's having to go on the credit card. (At this point I should add this is the same body shop that resprayed my entire drivers side last November after some little scally ran a key all the way down it). He now loves this car as it's single-handedly funding his family. I've decided that I don't love it anymore & now want something else! Hope that makes you feel better Woette! |

The damage you have is a minor one. You will just replace the door and that's all.
The paint will look just the same after the replacement. Nothing to worry about...you drive a safe car and you 'll continue doing so. Warp speed mode on! |
