My Pride and Joy is in for some check ups tomorrow.(tues)
Heres the list of issues i have reported to the Dealer: 1, Loud whining noise from the Fan Belt Pulleys 2, Knocking rear suspension when cold and mainly when reversing 3, Front windows rattle when open a couple of inches, irritating clicking noise 4, Popping noise from the speakers when the radio, cd or ipod is playing. Sounds like interference, static, or loose connections. Lets see what has been rectified when i get it back. I've got a FR-V courtesy car for the day, picked it up earlier. They have impressed me up to now. I'm very impressed with the FR-V |

So far no good.
The dealer has had the car since 4.45pm last night and just called to say they can't find anything for items 1, 2 or 4. For item 3 they are going to try new window seals to see if that works. I must admit item 4 hapens when the radio has been on for some time but does it all the time when it starts. 1, Loud whining noise from the Fan Belt Pulleys 2, Knocking rear suspension when cold and mainly when reversing 3, Front windows rattle when open a couple of inches, irritating clicking noise 4, Popping noise from the speakers when the radio, cd or ipod is playing. Sounds like interference, static, or loose connections. |

under 3000rmp I don't really hear the whinning anymore. I've also raised this issue and I can only conclude it's normal. How many miles do you have? I tend to think it gets better or I get used to it. |

Update now i have my car back
#1, the dealer can't find it or hear it. As soon as i got it home it started again. I'll leave it for a few days and then see how it goes. #2, no action dealer said they've checked the suspension and is fine. Must be true what "Robbo51" has quoted. #3, Cured. They said they have replaced the window rubbers and guides. #4, Typical this never happened for them even when i told them to leave the radio on for at least half an hour. Seems like it only does it for me I'll have to drive straight to the dealers the next time it starts. They said they have checked all the speakers for any bad or loose connections so time will tell. Their attitude was and i quote " you've got plenty of time left on your warranty so if it gets worse just bring it back" Not what i wanted to hear original list of issues. Last edited by ctrdaveg; 22nd April 2008 at 20:33. |

Have noticed item 3, on my car when you put either or both windows down an inch or two?
Very annoying metallic rattle noise, must take it into my dealers when I can? |

I also have had the whining noise as per your problem #1. Jeroen1000's similar experience was discussed here.
Engine sound question The noise only ever seemed really noticable before the engine had warmed up. I have now done well over 4000 miles and rarely get the whining sound anymore. Its not that i have got used to it. I think this was also described as a "feature" of the car by Jeroens dealer However i will mention it when i get my car serviced if it has not completely disappeared (along with the 3rd gear issue |

have had item 2 which has been reported to dealer several occasions. they say they have re greased rear suspension, but it is common fault, apparently the oil in the shocker rises when standing and the shocker bottoms out for short while until oil returns, (emmmm not convinced). knocking seems to be getting more frequent and lasting longer.
