hi all, there is alot of posts to this thread and i am being lazy here. I have a 57 reg CTR and i have heard clunks when moving slowly out of my cul-de-sac and into the road. Reading this post has worried me and was wondering if anyone has taken it in to a dealer yet/has had any problems and if Honda are aware of this yet?

Thanks, one worried CTR owner

Woody, this thread concerns the first 4600 or so Civics that rolled out of Swindon, so your CTR is not one of them. As for the "clunks', sorry, I cannot help you. May be worth your while to re post this in the CTR section or may be do a search for other posts on this subject. Good luck.

You will probably find that the clunks that you are hearing are due to the brakes being stuck on overnight due to the handbrake. I think that everyones does it but some folk who maybe aren't sure are worried about this.

Its normal if you leave a car with the handbrake on for a period of time that when you relase it and move off you get this clunk noise, its the brakes unsticking from the back. And its not just Honda's, My Mini did it and the BM's on the drive do it.

The only way to stop it is to not apply the handbrake and if your going to do that put a chalk infront or behind the wheels (depending on what way its facing) and it won't move.

Yes.

Even if the suggested tolerance issue exists at all, and even if it does actually matter (neither of which we know), the CTRs are all post-06 and therefore not affected.

Give him time to make it look 'official' - not easy you know to get all those company logos looking right.

Jesus is this still going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Put up or shut up, sorry if that appears rude, it's not meant to be, but I just can't be bothered waiting any longer, this is like trying to phone talk talk, hours of waffle and yet nothing.

We should have a sweepstakes as to when FMEA will post. I'm an eternal optimist so I say 9.56am*

The winner will get some "limited edition" rear wheel spindles

* not saying which day though!
