I totally agree with Carlwi some Civics have better paint than others. I have hardly any stone chips in comparison to my mate Si who has had is CTR less time than mines. He couldn't believe it! And we have a very similar washing pattern. Both Milano too

Right seen as everyone thinks that Honda's paint is Sooooooo crap, how about you have a little look at these. This is the state of a bumper on a BM on the drive. Shocking! And all the white specks are stone chips! BMW have been consulted on the paint and say there is nothing they can do. The mirrors are in some state too, they are so bad due to the fact they don't prime the mirrors and just stick a coat of paint on them.

So if you think your paint on your Civic is bad think how you would feel spending in excess of £40k and having this!

hi there,

ive got a stone chip on the roof as well as the bonnet. however the one on the roof is starting to bubble up already and it will eventually rust and i wasnt happy. went back to dealer and they said ring customer relations, did that and they got back to me and said wasnt their fault. well that doesnt help me does it or the fact went i come to trade it in they will deduct this rust and stone chips from the value of the car.
rang them back an explained i wasnt happy, they said theyll look into it again and get back to me? they did and said that the paints fine and theres nothing they can do. they suggested i claim on my insurance? still no happy and was going to write in but i will just get the same result in the end, a big fat nothing from honda.
ive got the milano red 1.8 sport, 5 door and had it 7-8 months now. a car this young should not have things like this happening to it, yeah a 7 year old car perhaps, but in this day and age of technology it shouldnt happen.
any suggestions what i can do next? was going to trade it back in and go elsewhere but do love the car though.
cheers

Cars get stone chips. If one hits your windscreen then its probably going to bounce onto the roof. If it does and it does at speed then it will more than likely chip the roof.

Honda state that you should inspect the car for chips and touch up/ fill these in with a touch up stick. This will then stop rust forming.

Stone chips are part of life. There is really nothing than can be done about them unless you want to drive on grass. I like youself and many others have a stone chip in the roof. I wouldn't expect Honda to respray a car or the roof just for that!

Sorry but its life! And no matter what the car there will always be this problem.
