Hi, Sorry for my poor english.
I've buyed my new vivid blue 1.8, 5 doors in september 2007 (one of the last vivid) in a HONDA official dealer in Belgium I've now a discuss with HONDA (BELGIUM) because I've notice a difference of paint between the bodywork and the rear bumper. Honda Belgium and the local dealer said me "it's normal","Wait a little, this difference may dissapear from itself" ! They also give me this explanation "it's because bumpers are not made in the same material as the rest of the bodywork" BUT my front bumper don't have this problem. Did someone have the same problem with the paint ? They don't propose any action to resolve this issue. they tell me repainting the rear bumper won't help (and i'm agree with that, the difference can be more important than now) and repainting the whole car will cost them too much..I'm very dissapointed over the reaction of Honda. It's my 4th honda and i've always been satifsfy until now !... ![]() ![]() ![]() here no difference ![]() ![]() |

As the dealer has told you there will always be a slight difference in colour due to the fact the paint is on two different types of material.
I agree with you though, yours does seem worse than normal. |

Eeewww, that doesn't look right. I know that metalic pain can be a pain, but apart from the fact the plastic looks darker aren't they also sprayed off the car so the factory paint the metal work then add the painted plastic bumpers, boot and trims (on the CTR) afterwards

It's to do with the way the metallic particles in the paint reflect the light. This is made worse by all the curves on the civic. Certain colours are more prone to this effect; blue obviously being one of them!
PS: Have a look at other cars at your dealers for a comparison with yours. |

Vivid Blue does seem to be affected more than other colours.
In some lights, my Civic does look as bad as it does in your photos. And in some lights the bumper and wing look exactly the same colour. It is a problem that I think you have to live with |

I have a type s gt, in vivid and it i very similar, didn't really notice for about a month. I did ask on the forum, if you do a search you will see it it quite common. I am quite fussy, but have learned to live with it.
It is probably more noticeable due to the lovely weather you have had over there. I was in Brugge from last Friday and until Tuesday and it was absolutely lovely, pity I didn't have the car with me so I could have shown you. |

My friend, Perla that has the colour it is the difference that you see. It observer also other make cars , they have this difference the bumpers with the car. I have also this difference in the collour. Also the bumpers she is from plastic other a explanation and also because they are painting separately by the remainder car is an other explanation.
