2 choices, Ask your dealer to fix it or do it yourself. I'm sure they dealer would want to know that he's doing it wrong though and you hurt yourself. |

HondaRob, as has been stated above it is fitted incorrectly. 30 seconds with a torx headed screwdriver to get it fitted correctly (as per RR's photo or here). When you tighten it up, push the spring rearwards, to get the best fit.
This is how it should look and spring open: filler3.jpg PS who was the numpty dealer? |

Of course. Naming dealers actions is only restricted to making sure it's the truth, and I suspect that your photo is good enough evidence...

My refitted flapper thingy hs been fitted similar to RR's, but MIllie's one seems to be a little closer to the locking peg.

Name and shame - Brindley Honda Birmingham. If this is their stuff up, they can be shamed, but in their defence, they have been excellent with the condition of the car when purchased, the service provided, p/x value and some other bit's n bob's so by no means are they shady, perhaps is was their numpty junior that did it.
I think a trip to the dealer to sort this out is required in order to bring it to their attention. Last edited by HondaRob; 25th May 2007 at 11:20. |

I've had a quick look at the fixing position and it seems correct, just that the clip is installed backwards.
If anyone else has this issue, watch your fingers...! |

I had mine replaced once and havent had a problem but apparently now my car has a recall on it for the spring to be fitted so it is being done at service.

I was unable to make the appointment to have mine fixed but now I don't think I need to. Its worked first time, every time for the last few months.
