Lol - mine hasnt been fixed as they say it has to be making that noise when they look at it and it only performs for me

They have seen the video evidence though!!

Believe me when your sitting in traffic that noise really winds you up even with the music up loud you can still hear it lol

This problem occured this Saturday on my car. Went to the dealer today, and it actually made the sound when they looked at it. They will try and fix it when it goes in for servicing in a fortnight. And it really is an annoying sound. You have to have the stereo on or drive at at least 60-80 km/h to silence it

what a joke I e-mailed Honda customer services they say no body has reported this before and are not aware of a problem with the wipers, trouble is I am never near the dealer when the noise starts, it has become a joke now, if I am passing my local dealer I put the wipers on when I get near just in case they are noisy, no matter what the weather is like, no luck yet they never do it.
I will catch them one day, I will be so shocked I will probably crash the car.

Yes snap - I have played the phone video of mine to the dealer

They are looking at them whilst it is in for service hopefully with all this rain this week they will have got to have heard it for once!!

It didn't make any sound when it was in for service. But they checked it after they installed the hft. They said to install the hft, they have to remove the wiper arms. Maybe it just was something loose in the arm's mounting that got fixed when reattached.

The dealership called me today to say they think they have solved the problem.

Apparently it is the linkage mechanism (or something) so they are ordering the new parts.

Hurrah no more noise I hope !!!!!!!

Hi All

On the way to work today the wipers decide to make the same noise as topcats. So another trip was made to the dealers this afternoon. I told the that it was the same as Topcats and sure enough they fixed there and then. The value of this site is really benficial.

Hi Topcat

Yes, I did use your real name. They were surprised that I knew you. Anyway as soon as I said you had the problem they knew which mechanic had fixed yours.

just got my new 1.8ES last Sunday, it was raining all day, and I too notices the constant noise when the wipers are on "Auto" mode. Highly annoying noise, especially when you can hear it inside the car. My C Class Merc also had moisture sensative wipers, but you never heard a sound - that is not to say the Merc was problem free - it had other problems; thats why i thought i would change brands. Any thoughts on this matter i.e. the noise on the civic???

Tighten up the wee nut & bolt that holds the mat retainer onto the seat runner. That's what fixed my mat about 6000 miles ago with no further problem.

I
My car was doing it yesterday too, this is a common problem as I had it on my Peugeot too. This sound appears when the wipers have been on for a while, the cure was to spray liquid grease on the motor arms and joints. You are correct in saying that its not a fix, and it will reappear.
