Windscreen wiper noise (merged)
Today whilst driving in the rain the left windscreen wiper developed a really strange sound, sort of like a creaking plastic sound (its definately not the rubber) then it switched to the right side then both sides!! It stopped after a while and then suprise suprise became intermittent Arggggggg Anyone else experienced this?
Im sure Honda are really going to think I imagine these things, I wish these faults that develop were permanent at least that way there is a better chance of them being fixed |

possibly some diesel / gunk on the windscreen, chucked up by the car in front?
give it a good squirt with the washers and see if that helps if it does - give it clean (don't forget to do the wipers themselves too) |

Yes, had that one, worse when wipers on max speed. A squirt of 3in1 oil at the base of each wiper shaft sorted it. There's some sort of plastic washer there that rotates/judders against the bodywork.

Can anyone else hear their windscreen wiper relay clicking on and off?
I heard a clicking noise the other day in the rain and have tracked it down to under the dash where the fuses are, so I am assuming that it is the relay. It only really happens when the wiper is on intermittent, which is odd. If it persists I will take the car in for it to be replaced because it is very noticable when stuck in traffic. |

I did have the same thought as you, maybe something to do with the relay? |

it will be the relay, and it will be most noticable when on intermittant, as it will 'click' each time it opens.
When on 'full' wipe it only clicks when you first turn them on, power is then passing continuously through the relay as the wipers swipe back and fore On intermittant, it's power on (click) = 1 swipe. power off. power on (click) = 1 swipe. power off... Can't say I've noticed it in the civc, but had it in previous cars - I might just be tuning it out now (though now you've mentioned it, no doubt I'll start to hear it again... |

At first I thought that it must be the windscreen wiper stalk, but soon dismissed that as making no sense at all!
It is certainly coming from where the fuses and relays are, but I must admit to not getting right down to listen as it was in traffic that I heard it and the rain had stopped before I parked the car. |

Noisy Wipers :(
Recently, my wipers have started making a lot more noise. It's like a creaking noise from the motor -- anyone else had this?

Has to be the back ones
No problems with the front wipers, and they have been tested regularly recently. Its those rear wipers that give me a headache, I'm sure they push the rain down to the boot so it can drip on my head when I open it.

I put a post on here 5th October (Windscreen Wiper Noise)!
It has down it twice now it sounds like it is coming from somewhere inside rather than on the outside - very irritating! |
