Unhappy "Check engine oil level" attention message

Hi,

I have 5D Civic, Milano Red, Sport, M/T from November 2006.

The car has almost 26k KM and until now was for two times at the service for the standard technical revisions.

At four mounts after I have take it, in the summer, at some point of time on the screen has appear "Low oil engine level".

I have completed the engine oil with another and immediately(next day) I call to the service to made a schedule.

At that point of time I understand that the car was new, engine was new and is natural to consume some quantities of oil.

After the first technical inspection I have change the oil with the Mobil 1 5-40W, SuperSyn. Everything was OK, no oil messages, nothing, almost satisfied but after a time the oil begin to burn to faster, the color was to dark, and the engine performance was not the same.

I thinking at that point of time that is happening because I drive in the city mostly in the second gear with more than 4000RPM(in the vtec area) and the oil supports a lot of internal presure.

Anyway, I have change the oil with the Valvoline 5-40W, Full Syntetic.

I have in this moment 3400 KM with this new oil, the same driving style, a lot of engine breaks in traffic, and last night on the screen has appear the "Check engine oil level" message.

In this moment I'm a liitle confussed why the car still consume oil in such quantities..

What should I do further ?

Some engines use oil some don't. As you know your engine is using oil you should really check the level using the dipstick on a regular basis (weekly) rather than waiting for a warning light.

I would think that a lot of driving at 4000rpm in second gear will use more oil than usual but if as you say your engine performance has dropped then I would think that something is wrong.

Well ...regard this post I have spoken with Honda local service manager and explain me that in the actual era of the full synthetic car oils this is the price that we must pay for the power of this engine R18A2.

Because the full synthetic oils contain a lot of different aditives then at the high presure/high RPM these one burn => oil consumption.

The solution is to use a oil with 10-40W but the performance of the engine will not be the same in time.
