25k Service Coming Up - Things that annoy me (help please)
Can anyone on the forum advise on these "features" which annoy me and whether or not the Service should be responsible for sorting them.
-Noise off the rear of the car when reversing out first thing in the morning. -Paintwork is pretty bad, of particular frustration is the rear sides where spray off the car has caused white horizontal lines on my NHB (polish just about hides them) - Rust on my triangular exhausts. - Doors that leave a puddle of water when you open them in the morning. Advice appreciated. (worried that the rust is my fault |

The creak when first moving is normal. Not sure about the paint (get the dealer to look) but if you smile nicely and point out the corrosion on the exhaust trim and mention the corrosion warranty you might get lucky. You may not, because they may consider that bit of exhaust trim to be part of the exhaust, which of course is not covered.

Dealers are a bit odd, as they say it is not part of either trim, not bodywork or exhaust therefore it's not covered by either corrosion warranty, I use WD40 and then alloy wheel sealer on my exhausts as a precaution, but you shouldn't have too.
Sadly the paintwork is crap on all civ's, but yours sounds like it could be a bit mor than your ordinary, "this is too thin paintwork". ATB, Tom |

Hiya Nelstar... Just had my 25000 mile service, went smoothly up until the point i drove home and found a dent in the crease of the door. So went in with not a scratch and came out with a ruddy dent IN THE CREASE of the door! (my mistake to not thoroughly check your car when you go to pick it up)!!!! Anyway i literally had a list for them to check! remember its your car! know one elses... yours! so if something doesnt feel right, look right or sound right, let them know! You never know, they might fix, replace something that you never knew! I had the clicking sound on my car, every time i seem to turn the wheel, there was a click, mentioned it to them, and they re-fiited the underpanel, lubricated and re bolted again. I also had a screaming window, everytime i press to open, it would literally scream like a cat, they are replacing the motor that is inside and replacing the glass for me! All my recalls were done, not too sure about the handbreak as i really is weird! And i spoke to the company director for 40 minutes about the problems on the cars... sometimes it helps to just go in with a civilised attitude and maybe ask to speak to someone bit more senior, skip talking to the crappies!!! Then get straight to the point!!!! The managers are a whole lot better to speak too... Good luck and dont worry about moaning... thats what we are great at!!! |

Normal as in "not a problem" Pottsy, or normal as in "known problem to be fixed"?
I'm due a 12-month service around now and want to be sure that I don't miss any faults. Only got 4,000km on the clock though Note to self: Work less, drive more!! |

Streakybird, cheers for reminding me about my "screaming" driver side window. Another one for the list.
Very apprehensive about the service, not been impressed at all by the Dealership since I got it, nothing I've said to them has ever been acted on. That said, this is the 1st car I've ever owned, so I'm learning as I go. |

There wouldn't be people moaning so much if 'they' do the job correctly!
But because of all these faults, it gives 'them' work to do... hense wages in 'their' pockets!!! If your lucky enough to speak to the manager... you get somewhere!!! |
