Andrea, I would return to the dealers. I once had a squeaky clutch on a cavalier and it was one of the nylon clutch pivot bushes worn/misaligned, eventually it wore completely and I had to have fitted, a complete new pedal assembly at £ £ £. I should have returned it but didn't to my cost |

It was a very well known problem on muy previous ford focus II (also touch the cmax): it's been solved with lithium grease by the dealer.
You should bring your car to your dealer, it's wiser |

Although it has been fixed after 1500 Kms it starts to squeek again now after 5500 Kms. I don't know yet if i'm going to learn to live with it or to complain again at the dealer.
Great car after all! |

clutch cylinder in the engine bay or in the passenger room? or they have just put some grease on the pedal somewhere? actually I have a click (like a relais) when I press the pedal in and out also.. just a simple click on halfway (not the clutch switch!!) I think I will show it to my dealer... it disturbs me well hmmm a bit... would be good to have it silent! Last edited by PTR; 8th March 2007 at 14:18. |

@PTR: I don't know exactly what (which) part(s) they fixed or changed (warranty), but I'm sure it has been done. Before that (approx. 1000 Kms) they have indeed put some grease somewhere but that didn't help.
About the click you mentioned: I hear it too (it wasn't there before the so named 'fixing'). I think I'm going to tell both things to the dealer whenever I pass there for 10000 Kms oilchange. |

I had this problem last summer and my god it got annoying! Finally, when I couldn't stand it any longer, I took it to the dealer. Prior to that, I had used WD40 and taken it to the dealer who used grease to grease it up, which worked decent for 2 days after which the squeaking returned.
They booked the car in and replaced something... the squeaking went away. For a month this time. Then it returned! My third visit to the dealer got it sorted once and for all. They had to order in a replacement of some sort. It's been 2 months now and touch wood the squeaking hasn't returned. Though some good did come out of visits to the dealers... they let me use a brand new Civic 2.2 diesel 56-plate as courtesy car. Only had 8 miles on the clock when they let me take it away for 4 days. Gave me an insight into how the diesel would have fared. Bottom line, I'm glad I went with the 1.8 i-vtec. Different strokes for different folks... Take it to the dealer. |

I found yesterday what is clicking (not squeaking): it is the clutch switch... so I'm not that worried anymore but it still disturbs me a bit and when the car was new it was silent.
So I think I will show it to the dealer. Does any of you have that clicking pedal? (It isn't to loud so not that easy to hear. Radio off, engine off and push it a few times a bit faster.. at about halfway I hear it. |
