can someone help me please,
I have bought a touch in stick from honda (silver) and want to touch in some chips, only 1 of them have gone to the metal and rusted. Do I need to get rid of this rust first of touch over the top? if so, how do I get rid of it? and whats the best way to touch in chips? thanks in advance. |

Yes, you need to get rid of the rust first (not sure of the best way to do this, maybe someone else will comment).
As for applying the paint, I use a cocktail stick. Dont try and fill the chip in one go; apply the paint in layers and you will get a better result. This might be useful : Guide to Detailing :: http://guidetodetailing.com |

The easiest way is to buy some kur-rust from Halfords, its a liquid that turns rust into something else (I don't understand the science), then you can touch up as brawnr says.
Or you can get chips away out to give you a quote, when I had a quote a while back it was £60 for all the chips on the bonnet. You'll need to treat the rust yourself first though. |

I find the Halfords kits with their 'nib applicator' so easy to use as they deliver a tiny amount of paint exactly where required.
Unfortunately my Galaxy Grey is not stocked so I got a single clearcoat one, tipped out the contents, left overnight to drain and then filled with GG. Once you force the remainder of the clearcoat out and the GG starts coming through you now have your colour available as required. The only other bit of work was to destroy the Honda paint tube to get the ball bearings out to put into the 'nib applicator'. |

Not of the large size that's included in the tube/pot, easy enough anyway with a sharp knife and a disposable latex glove
