Is this right?

ok, so I need touch in stick for the stone chips on my silver type-r, I called in to a dealer and they said they needed paint code etc. which is fine. I then rang another dealer (my local one) who asked for colour, so I said Alabaster Silver, and he said "ok it's ordered". I said "don't you need model" and he said no they are all the same!

Is this true, is the silver paint on my civic the same as all the other Honda models such as FRV, Accord, Jazz?

Please help me

I was certainly asked for the paint code when I requested paint for my last CR-V

Trouble is, I couldn't give paint code as it's not on my door jam like the manual says it should be. I know Pottsy put codes on here somewhere but they are titled "2008 codes" and mines an 07' so are they the same Pottsy?

Why can't it be simple?

I'm gonna end up with paint for an old CRX or something!

NH Dan, are you sure? or guessing?

Why would the manual specify a paint code rather than just say "ask for alabaster silver"?

can't understand why another dealer would need paint code and this one doesn't?

I have an Alabaster Silver touch up stick.

I just asked for "Alabaster Silver", no question of what model the car was.

Alabaster silver is alabaster silver ....
Honda asks the paint companies to developed specific colours for them for a certain price .the paintlines at the factory are run by the paint companies and the responsabilities for paint quality is with the paint comanies ,sometimes the car manufacturers fall out with the paint companies and anothr paint manufacturer will take over the production with their own version of the original colour , this is when you get different shades of the same colour ,sometimes also designated by year .

The colour code is stamped on the silver plate riveted to the left hand door pillar, easily seem if you open the left hand front door.
Not sure what the code is for silver though, NH623 ???

Same here when I got a touch up stick for my 'old'alabaster silver civic, but then the dealers did know what car I drove so didn't have to ask!

Haven't needed one for my blueish silver yet
