I had the lights flick on and off, warning lights on and we came to the conclusion via this site that it was due to the battery running down.

There has been more than a few posts about batteries losing charge on here, you may wish to have a look through them

do you think maybe you knocked the button that changes the brightness of the dials? if thats been moved it looks like nothing is on in the day time.

and if it is a battery fault - demand a new one - ive had mine cut off whilst driving! v bad.

Well there is one easy way to see if it's the battery - does the engine start????

As simon1 says, this is not going to be the battery. If you lose the instruments like this then nothing else will work and the car won't start.

Most likely a bad earth, as mentioned - but finding which one is going to be the tricky bit!

Yep Im going with a bad earth or loose connection as the most likely cause. Should be an easy fix once the dealers find it.

Well my car started and put up warning lights, flicked the headlights on and off in rapid sucession, gave a dodgy reading on the diagnositcs and it seemed to have been caused by sitting with the radio going in the car without the car engine running and causing the battery to lose power.

Angie, that's not the battery, that's something else. If the battery has enough power to supply hundreds of amps to the starter motor, then it has enough power to supply an amp to the dash.

Thats what I though, but supposedly not.....however with everything they cannot tell you what it is unless it does it in front of them and even then they are stumped!

No the car still drives and starts , lights indicators and everything else works fine, cars been twice for it before , last time they had to take on of the consoles out on the dash , but i dont think they know what they re looking for because both times honda told me different things where wrong but same fault code, i just hate getting the run around, when honda would be better off saying " we dont know exactly whats wrong !
Any way thanks guys
