'5th Injector' recall

I've just had notification from HSBC that all Civic's are to be recalled for a '5th injector problem'.

Just checked with a dealer who knows nothing about it, and also tried the 'online check' - no joy!

Anyone have any ideas, or have HSBC flamingo'ed up?

Cheers

Clive

Well that's the point. Honda have notified HSBC, who in-turn have notified me. As usual though, the dealers know nothing.

All those high hopes I had of Honda reliability and professionalism - my Civic's been back more times in 6 months than the previous 2 cars were over the last 8 years.

I expect you've take the letter to your dealer, but in any case I would leave them a copy together with a written request for a response from Honda based on the fact,as you say, its an official recall.

They're probably recalling the cars to remove the superfluous fifth injector. It's just not needed, like your appendix, tonsils or liver.

Without a liver you die

The liver, the largest organ in the body, is essential in keeping the body functioning properly. It removes or neutralizes poisons from the blood, produces immune agents to control infection, and removes germs and bacteria from the blood. It makes proteins that regulate blood clotting and produces bile to help absorb fats and fat-soluble vitamins. You cannot live without a functioning liver.

*on topic*

I do get your point though, as we don't have a 5th injector that recall is impossible.

Just checked with my svc dept who in turn have checked with HUK and nothing issued via them so far. Who at Honda has notified HSBC would be the question i'd ask.

Wanted to nitpick as the other body parts you mentioned you can do without ^^

and btw "ironie" (I did get that the first time though, might have phrased it awkwardly)

Or two kidneys - only need one to live.

Slightly off topic - Damian, how you finding your remap?? Not caused any problems with your injectors has it?
