Rear doors filling with water!!
My rear doors on my 2006 Honda Civic seem to fill with water. Looks like it is coming in from behind the door handles, also seem to happen more on the nearside door.
I've figured out how to drain the water out using the rubber plugs at the bottom of the door, which at least stops the sloshing noise, but don't want water getting in at all. Anyone else experience this? Do I just need to get Honda to replace the rubber seals behind the handles? |

There has been a few threads on this subject. Some folks have removed the plastic drain plugs to prevent a build-up of water.
There's a thread to read here: Drainage Holes For Doors ....and another here: Water Leaking via windows into Doors .....and another here: Door full with water?? PS...as a matter of interest I always check the little flaps on the door drains, after washing my car, to make sure they are resting on the outside of the drain, rather than being stuck on the inside. It may help your problem if you snip off a mm or two from the bottom part of the little flap. Last edited by allan40alt; 18th July 2008 at 14:15. |

Talking of rubber drain plugs in the bottoms of the doors...my 06 Civic had them but in my new 08 Civic they have not been put in. Seems like Honda have dispensed with that idea.

Yes, the rubber bungs were removed by Honda some time during 2007. If your car has them, you should remove them.
