Noisey Whining Fan?
Now that the weather is getter colder and the internal heating blower is working harder I noticed that the fan seems to emit a whining noise. It is more noticeable at low speed (blower not road!). Has anyone else noticed their fan whining? Or is it just me being overly fussy and 'whining'

If you look in the "great work guys" post there must be a fan whining somewhere, probably Charles about his wiper **.
** Another ambiguous mention for wiper, sorry. |

Out of curiosity, does it matter what direction the air is coming out?
I was wondering if the noise was just a whistle from the big bars that move behind the dash to direct air flow to windscreen, or to feet, or wherever. With my old clio, you could set the dial dor fan direction in funny positions that made the system whistle, could it be similar? My old van at work had a noisy fan, but that is because there was a pen lid in there. The air vents were used by other people as a pen holder, and while grabbing a pen from the vent, the lid fell in and made a lot of noise! I hop you haven't done that! |

You forgot the lack of spare wheel, too Double-R. You can't mention a freindly dig at Charles Harding and his wiper, without mentioning that they forgot to put a spare wheel in his car!

A rear wiper would have been nice, save me having to wipe the dew off every morning. Still, it's a small price to pay for a great car! |

Indeed a noisy fan, more noisy on a warm setting than a cold one?
I have one, not got around to looking at it yet, probably a job for next week Got a thousand miles this weekend so best not to have the car in bitz Unless there's another car around??? |

Only had the car a week and think we have a noisy fan.
It seems to increase with the fan speed setting and is loudest at the passengers side. Anyone know where the main fan is? Is it just the bearings bedding themselves in !! (CDTI EX with Panoramic) |
