Thumbs up

Yes to most of the things on the list, but unvote the speedo relocation idea and I would rather have the option for parking sensors!

Additional 12v sockets (2x to rear passenger and 1x Additional for front passenger) plus additional easy access power take-off's by fusebox for hard-wired on-dash and covert items. (both accessory switched and permenant on)

Glovebox should auto lock on Central Locking and Deadlock.

Both Sat-Nav and Non Sat-Nav Radio's should intigrate user-changeable 'Welcome Screen' for display of Pre-formatted text or JPEG Image. This could be uploaded by USB and have User Programmed Pin Protection, with User and Dealer only display Resets. (Added Security or Added Cool!) e118.gif

Non Sat-Nav Models should get bigger colour LCD with 1x Video only input for Reversing Camera 2x Audio only Input (Stereo for MP3 players etc) and 1x Audio Visual (Stereo) Input for after market and custom products. (Eg. Car PC display etc). Sat-Nav Model just needs all of the inputs added!

I also think that the wheel-arch and bumper trim strips etc should be colour coded as standard. (But not the mesh bits on the front and rear)

In as far as suggestions are concerned I think they have all been mentioned at one time or another.
  • Auto close mirrors on lockdown.
  • Passenger mirror that goes to another preset position when reverse is selected (makes reverse parking alongside the pavement so much easier).
  • Power point on top of dash for SatNav's and the like.
  • Design of proper mounting point for SatNav's to avoid the dreaded windscreen sucker circles.
  • Stronger foglight glass/polycarbonate
  • Auto dimming mirror(s).
  • TMC to have traffic voice warnings.
  • Electric seat(s).
  • Proper external radio aerial.
I'm done

Thumbs down

This has just come up in the Forum and I think Honda Should sort it out for the new Model.

60/40 split seat - but how do I use two seatbelts?

60/40 split seat - but how do I use two seatbelts?

If you fold down the small section, Only one belt is available. As we are a family of four and its a 5 seat car! you would think that all available seats should be usable within the law. IE with seatbelts available!

Not good Honda, Not good at all!

I love the way everyone wants all these toys
just think how much more the car would cost!!!!

I think everyone needs to remember they are driving a small family hatchback

That's not to say there have been some good ideas

If you actually read the list, most of the items are easily applied at no extra cost during production and most are more design comments than luxury upgrade!

It would just be nice to have things that work logically!

Yes I rather thought mine was one of the better ideas that should be put to Honda;

"Parts that dont need replacing within a short period of time would be a bonus"!

I realise this list will be posted to Honda today, but perhaps we could have a poll with the options from Pottsy's list. To get more people to share their view of what they think would be most important.

Maybe too late but...
Better to sort out current problems/weak spots first, then plan for new features. Most worrying area seems to be the suspension with all kinds of faults. In day-to-day use, IMO the most annoying 'feature' is unneccessary beeping: seatbelt beep should occur only when the seatbelt is not on AND the vechile is moving. Also, the continuous beeping when the key is in and drivers door is open is completely useless and very annoying.

Copycat, I'll do a survey! If people could pease keep adding here any ideas (remember this is nothing to do with faults, just design changes or improvements) then I'll do a survey in 2 sections:

Changes that should be free (how much you like/dislike the change), and

Changes that would cost (how happy you'd be to pay more, possibly as standard, for the change).

But once I start the survey, we can't add any more ideas. So get posting here first!

Honda spent a fortune over several years in developing the i-Shift feature.
It is a remarkable piece of equipment, but nevertheless, somewhat inferior to the DSG in the judgement of those who have driven both.
It's unlikely that Honda can improve things radically without patent trangressions. So is it time to offer full auto as an option?

I agree Honcho. Full auto with the diesel would be great. You've got my vote.

They have also spent a fortune developing an F1 car and they can't get that to work either!

My 2 pennies worth ;)

Not got my car yet but from reading here and drooling over it at the showroom.

Auto-Dimming rear view mirror is an option £200 on the Type S - perhaps offer it as an option on the rest of the range.

Software update to scroll long MP3 names for those of us without Sat-Nav.

Option of Run-Flats with adjusted suspension would be nice ~ ala BMW series 1 style - As an option though - NOT as standard.

Upgrade on Headunit - perhaps a unit with built in bluetooth connection (these are out for under £150 in aftermarket sector - so not too expensive for Honda to organise).

(hmmm an auto-mute Boyfriend/girlfriend option??? Would guarantee Honda could never produce enough to satisfy demand )

Well thats my 2 pennies worth.
