I'll try the 1 in 10 as opposed to 1 in a 100 ods with my next few patients upstairs (as I'm at work) - I'll say something like this....
Normally we have post-op vomit rate of about 1 in a 100, but due to cost cutting we will use less drugs today - but it's OK as the general populate are happy to accept 1 in 10 things not going to plan??!!!!

Sorry for being sarcastic!
I still don't have my car (myabe tomorrow), and it's a busy weekend for the old NHS!!!!

I take your point rhodgreen, but look at how many people are unhappy with the service or treatment they get from the NHS or indeed a Police force. It's very unlikely a brand new product (cars included) is going to be fault free and please everybody. Going by whats been said by members with the 07 model the number of faults reported is drastically reduced and it would seem that you have been unlucky. Thats not to say that is acceptable and clearly you are unhappy, the dealers have an obligation to correct such niggles. I'll set up a poll and see how happy and unhappy people are with their cars and we'll get some numbers to crunch!

No need to apologise for sarcasm, its the form of humour I can relate to most easily!

What bugs me about the motor industry is how stubborn the manufacturers are and how little support us consumers get. If for instance I buy a large plasma screen and it doesn't do what it says on the box - it gets replaced.

Just watched the F1 race - seems Honda's moved some techies from Swindon to work on their F1 cars!!!!!

add to list

Well you can add to my list the auto wipers which come on when its raining since they have fitted a new windscreen
they don't work any more and the trim fell off around the mirror

so my list is getting longer

Well here we go again....
Have to admitt - not looked at this list for a while and was surprised that I'd only got up to 21 - it feels like a hell of a lot more!
So...
Ongoing problems:
a) Climate control continues to attempt to freeze us victims should we decide to be in the car for longer than about 45-60min.
b) Ongoing ratles from the dashboard - now pinpointed most of the time to the sat nav control wheel.

New probs:
22. Clear plastic around rear number plate has a developing crack in it.
23. 12v socket in boot has no power going to it.

Finally, not sure if this is related to others comments about the thin/poor paint work - but I'm shocked at how surpried it picks up little scratches (around the door handles, especially rear, are terrible).

As soon as I got in the car this evening, can't believe I forgot about this one...

24. Screaching drivers door electric window - loud enough to be deafening to people listening on the other end of the HFT - let alone the driver!
- hope you all feel sorry for my right ear drum!!!

These are my gripes for the dealer:
Speedometer cover looks faded
Very poor radio reception
Rear near door alignment is off
Front centre section in between lights alignment is off
Scuffs on the right of speedo
MPG is poorer than expected so far
Auto lights sensitivity seem to low (don't come on early enough)

Dealer issues:
Packing found on underside around jacking points
Tyre pressures were way off on front tyres 28.5 should of been 36psi

Plus I have a warranty claim for 2 Storm alloys and I am expecting a new dashboard fascia trim and centre storage bin (in front of gear lever)

1. Squeaks from dashboard - still don't know what
2. Noises over 110 km/h - turned out it was some covering of the exhaust system vibrating.
3. VSA error - check system - must restart the engine sometimes and than it's ok
4. Central locking - sometimes I can't get it opened

Hi, Saw this thread about all the problems you guys have had with your new civics...
I bought a 56 reg civic and collected it two weeks ago, the car has since been into the garage twice with paint issues and is currently with Honda as i type this!

So far, i have had
1. Knocking from rear shocks
2. Random rattle from the drivers door (if slammed shut it stops the rattle)
3. Windscreen wipers making odd noises when it is raining heavily
4. Wobbly handbrake when it is down
5.Exhaust sounds like its blowing (the car had only done 2800 miles when i bought it)
6.Heated seats take ages to warm up
7. Arch clips broken (taken 2 attempts for them to replace them and still not fixed)
8. Front bumper has had a smart repair which was bodged up (twice) and front bumper is now going for a full respray.
9.Crack in plastic light panel on the boot
10.Small light scratches appearing on car!

Im sure i could think of a thousand more probs ive had with it, and im pretty sure i will find a thousand more in the future!

here i go

1. Rattle in driver curtain airbag, not going to have it fixed cause i find it not worth it
2. Rattle in passenger door, this problem will be fixed because someone smashed into that door = new door
3. Left rear shock noise, has been fixed
4. Left front crash impact sensor failure, fixed
5. Broken thing on the left front of bumper, fixed
6. Paint is just not that well done...
7. Interior lights (window lock and passenger window control on driver side) failed, not yet fixed
8. Clicking clutch pedal, not fixed because the mechanic said it was completely normal, it is the cruise control stop-mechanism when pressing down the clutch. Howeve rin the beginning that clicking wasnt there....
9. The key that refuses to open the car from a distance, not fixed because they dont know what is causing it

The list is relative long but there is something called a warrant guarentee so i didn't have to pay one cent to get the problems fixed and it arent any BIG problems.

My badly made Civic Type R GT

I have had my car for just 5 days. It was delivered with three faults + one more added by my local Honda dealer. Not quite such a long list as your's yet! I am sure it will grow as the months go by! Four faults in five days!

Faults:-
(1) Buckled driver's side 'A' pillar
(2) Chipped paintwork on rear bumper. This happened when the supplying dealer fitted rear parking sensors.
(3) Driver's door not lining up properly with rear wing. Too recessed when closed.
(4) Kerbed front alloy caused when the car was parked by dealer on the kerb outside the service department!

Took it to my local Honda dealer to get above items fixed. Very effecient in booking me in and ordering the pillar moulding.
They fixed the 'A' pillar but causd more damage to the door and kerbed the front wheel!

So I started with three problems, they fixed one (the moulding), created another (kerbed wheel), made one problem worse (the door). So I still have three problems, but the car is in worse condition than when it was delivered 5 days ago!

They have made such a hash of the door that it has damaged the inside door skin. This was because the latch was rubbing against the door skin around the locking mechanism. They did the opposite to my request and now the whole door sems twisted on its hinges! I had to take the car urgently to my favourite body shop who managed to fix the problem. I could not use the driver's door and had to exit from the passanger door! It is still not right, but I was short on time. Don't know if it can be lined up by what they seemed to have done.

All-in-all, very substandard service quality allied to extreme carelessness.
If they don't fix the above, I will have to name them and shame them!
I had no such problems with my Focus. It is much better made than the Honda and the dealer experience incomparably superior. I am keeping it.

'The Power of Dreams' is certainly turning into a nightmare!
I think I am beginning to hate the car!

My 'menu' so far at 12,000 miles:

1. Paint. Paint. Paint. Paint. Paint. Paint. Paint. Paint.
2. Key remote not opening the car. At the same time no red LED in the dash but the car is locked.
3. Drivers side window squeaks when going down.
4. Odd cabin rattles, can't quite locate but somewhere near the driver's door hinge.

Am lucky. Chiswick Honda has been very helpful and everything is sorted out. No rattles, no paint problems, all electronics 100%, for now! However, had to have the doors re-hung by preferred body shop as it did not cost anything really and the location was more convenient for me during the working day. Chiswick Honda also has a superb body shop. The car is made in the UK, so what do you expect.
Very happy with my Milano Red Type R GT.

Best of luck! Check your car carefully and very clearly explain what you want done, preferably in writing. Keep a copy. You can never be too fussy or careful.
By the way, found another fault! The driver's side window vertical rubber runner along the trailing edge distorts when the window is raised or lowered. I thought I had fixed it, but the problem has annoyingly re-appeared. Back to Chiswick Honda for more TLC!
