I have made a few posts about problems i have had with my car but here is the full list
1) Overheated in traffic in Feb, 2 weeks after getting the car - One of the coolant overflow pipes has been removed and the coolant system was sucking in air. - Fixed 2) Drivers door would jam when the outside temp exceeded 20c. You could get in, but would not be able to get back out again. - Fixed 3) Generally very badly performing brakes - Ongoing 4) Boot would not shut one day and was unable to lock the car properly. Took 3 days to get the dealer to sort it out, during which time the car was never properly locked - fixed but the boot is still very hard to shut properly 5) Nasty clunking coming from front of car when braking or accellerating - Was told that they couldn't find anything and to bring it back when it got worse 6) Clicking from front nearside outer CV joint - Fixed 7) Point 5 above was later diagnosed as a worn shock absorber - Fixed 9) Outer CVs gone again, but both this time - Booked in 10) Clunking coming from the front has also returned - Booked in Points I have not bothered with 11) Fag lighter socket pulls out of centre console 12) Frog in my wipers 13) Boot gas struts not strong enough 14) Lift up boot flaw as become 'wonky' and doesn't sit correctly (although i have had some heavy stuff in the boot, but still!) 15) Rattle from dash, and now a new rattle/buzz from engine when letting off from 3900 rpm which has only appeared since it went for its first service. Nothing seams loose under the bonnet 16)Wildly innacurate fuel consuption figures (affected i assume by the innacuracy of the speedo!) I like the car, I just wish it handled better. I could forgive it these little issues if it drove well, but it doesn't. It feels numb and very cumpersome at low speed. Also there is not enough anti-roll on the car. The suspention is stiff, but it rolls arround on tight corners causing lack of grip etc and making the car generaly unsatisfying to drive. and the stiff springs make motorways a bit of a chore! |

My previous 2 cars did,nt quite do that for me-the first of those was an extremely dissapointing Alfa, the second, ES Civic,a good car but eventually I still wanted a more 'sporty' drive. Had my Type S nearly a year and still fits the bill just fine |

yeah, but as i understand it, the type s has similar suspention as most of the other models! I have the sport model which i am told is the same as all the other, other than the wheels and the pedals etc!
I have to choose a 4 door car that was economical and reliable as well as 'sporty'. its generally reliable (its never 'broken down') and resonably economical, I can get 45 mph (according to the computer) on a gentle motorway cruise, but i feel let down the on the sport part! Its just understeer all the way! I had a new focus for a while (seats were crippling) and that was a dream to drive! resonsive, light on it's feet, reacted brilliently to steering input and so on |

what are the differences between the S and the sport then that make such a big difference.
Road tests of the type R all come back with the same handling traits as my car as well, i.e. not very good! |

1. IPod connector not fitted
2. Rear lights wired up incorrectly 3. Missing reversing light (dealer said the car didn't have one) 4. Number plate fell off 5. Clutch noisy from new 6. Glove box flies open as soon as you start driving 7. Trim rattles 8. Enormous oil consumption 9. Scratched dashboard 10. Rattling speaker housing 11. Paint flaking off driver's door 12. Oil stains on driver's door trim 13. Inoperative rear wiper 14. Petrol cap doesn't open 15. Dealer is incompetent and unhelpful 16. I lost the will to live at this point.... Except that was Mrs Fergus's experience of a new Toyota Yaris. My Civic scores nul points on the old Problem-o-meter! |

it would seem there is a small percentage of civic with problems over 100,000 civics made 11,000+ members on here ( most of whom are happy with their cars) leaving 89,000+ unaccounted for. I think it can be taken then the majority of them are happy your last comment rhodgreen just goes to show that Renault, Ford, Audi, and Mercedes can make good cars aswell if your family are happy with their cars and just to prove that I am not a walking, talking advert for Honda I am going to be looking at the new Volvo XC60 and Audi Q5 when it comes time to change my current CR-V the civic will more than likely be changed for an all new jazz however as my mum not longer wants such a big car as the civic Also you cannot make one of comments such as "Honda have an excuse for everything" |

Car not ready as yet. Having paint problems and the bodyshop manager is not happy to release the car. He seems to be a pretty tough cookie and seems to be quite a perfectionist. All this caused by the previous garage,(WSG), doing a botched job. You might be interested to know that the dent to the wing happened on April 16th by a careless skipman overloading the skip. This was 2 weeks after I took delivery of the car. Car still not repaired after 12 weeks! It has been in bodyshops so far for a total of approx 7 weeks. I have driven the car in total for approx 6 weeks! Therefore, over half the time since delivery in bodyshops! Will I ever get it back and have full use of it continuously, I wonder. I have nearly lost the will to live!
