My car is very reliable - Yes I have had faults which have been fixed by Honda, but the car has never let me down once.

There was supposed to be :sarcasm: in that post. I think its safe to say these can be put down to electrical gremlins rather than fundamental flaws with the cars integrity.

I've always had Jap bikes so I know the engines etc are bullett proof

I can concur with the "all day" quote from dealers. When I test drove my 2007 2.2 ES I tested everything electrical to check for correct functioning. The roof blinds stuck and then freed up with an enormous bang! I asked them to fix it before I would accept the car (which they did). The service guy told me afterwards that it had taken 5 hours!

roof blinds

my 09 civic had the same problem, i tried cleaning the runners / gt85 etc etc but in the end took it into the dealers and they repaired foc under warranty
duration - 3 days as they had to remove / replace all the headlining and assoc trims

book it in the dealers when they have a courtesy car avaialable and you wont pay a penny other than fuel and be without your car for 2 - 3 days.

I didn't get the car from Honda mate. From experience though I do know that Hilton Garage (a car supermarket) will check if it is covered by the manafacturer before they attempt to fix it themselves so I may get it done by Honda for free.

In the 3 winters I had my 8G it happened twice in a following spring. It is a skilled job removing and replacing the entire blind and mine was done twice. In the end I shut the blind and left it and hopefully whoever bought the car will be able to get it fixed for the 3rd time under warrenty.

Honday have completely changed the blind design in the 9G so that it gets more than 12 months life.

Lol well I took a look, defo looks to me your best to remove the whole assembly looks a pain in the arse as cant see how you would get to it without all lining out. but I managed to get the front roller blind back in the rail and used some GT85 grease on the runners and its eased it a bit, it looks to me like when it sticks it can come out the runners easy if forced. They are still sticking a little but hoping during use the grease will work in. If not I will make a day Job of it and take apart (that will be fun!)

Wish mine had been sticky.
Mine just stopped working one day...at the front anyway.
No doubt I will have to strip half the interior out to fix it.

Glad yours is sort of sorted....let us know.
