Im sorry Peter but I can not believe you are still complaining!

If the apology is all you want then turn down the free service and the cheque for £100. I have written several letters, had my solicitor contact Honda UK and written to Japan, my reply from Japan was dated 19th March stating that Honda UK would definately deal with my complaint and yet still I have heard nothing and this has been going on since November 2006 !!

I think you are completely blowing this out of proportion, you don't even have a problem with the car, move on.

Honda U.K or Honda Japan ( The showroom is not owned by Honda) and so they can only ask the showroom to apologize and not actually force them into doing so even though the service you received may have dented your opinion of Honda slightly

I have worked in the Customer relations for years and know what I expect and know who should do what etc

and I think Honda have done nothing wrong - it is the firm who owns the showroom ( whoever it is) that is at fault and this is who you should be talking to trading standards about ( no doubt Honda will have letters on board - but they cannot really apologize on behalf of the showroom
they can just give the showroom a boot up the backside ( so to speak)
and sorry but to have posted what happened anywhere apart from Civinfo is just wrong

Sorry Peter I do not mean to be rude in any shape or form but as I mentioned I have been in customer services for years and looking at your situation I would not have done some of the things you have ( but would hopefully received an apology from the showroom by now

P.M also sent

please note i have not posted any thing any where else you are WRONG to assume this ,

the key issue is that Honda twice did not take time to read my letters properly

yes I AGREE it is not Honda's fault how the show room behaved,

however if Honda had simply read my letters properly, give Kettering Honda a kick up the jacksie the whole issue would have been resolved .

lets face logically all i was asking for a sorry letter .

sorry if i seem abrupt, I do not mean to be rude in any shape or form.

the main point is that in my letter as detailed below highlighted in red when you request something twice in a letter
their is no excuse in not responding to that part,
you would be aware of this working in customer service, you look at what is being requested then you respond relevantly, E.G.( dear Mr newton sorry Kettering Honda refuses to apologize this is out of our hands may we apologize on their behalf . the end)

The Managing Director for Honda UK Ken Keri

Dear ken
Would you except being treated like I have been? Would you still purchase a Honda??
I wish to complaint about my treatment at one of your franchise dealers
Kettering Honda Northfield Avenue

Due to your response I have posted this on the Honda civic forum internet site .other people have had the same issues
www.civinfo.com section ('Who can make the longest list?')

I have not yet taken delivery of the HONDA CIVIC 2.2I ICDI EX.
I am seriously considering canceling the order; I know it will cost me £500.00 deposit. I feel very angry and upset and I am prepared to follow this out.

The customer service response letter clearly lacks thought.

It was clear in the letter who responded, their was lack of thought put into my complaint
And the Issues I have.

(1) no mention of getting the dealer to send a letter to say sorry for the disgusting treatment we received

(2) my comment about the spare wheel was totally ignored

To resolve this issue and restore my faith in your company I feel that you should
make the Kettering dealer ship write a letter to say sorry, I feel this is the least you can do. If you are not prepared to do this I will write to Honda customer service Japan for their input.
Mr. Takeo Fukui.

I await your response as a mater of great urgency within next 7 days

sorry top cat you are the last one i would expect to say that to me,

a complaint is a complaint no matter how small .
if you feel strongly about something you should take it all the way to get what you deserve

in my case a sorry letter i did not request compensation a sorry letter .

ps sorry if I'm abrupt.

Peter

The statement you used in your opening letter to Honda shows how you are obviously VERY upset by the whole experience.

My dad died 11 years ago (aged 51) and the only thing I can say made me equally upset was when my mum died 18 months later (also aged 51), no matter what life has thrown at me since and believe me there have been some bad times, I can say that nothing has ever come near the upset I went through so you obviously feel very strongly about your treatment at Kettering Honda.

But the thing is Peter do you really want an apology from them now? Lets face it they don't care and any apology they give you now will be in-sincere and only forth coming because they have been asked to do it so it it will mean nothing. Yes Honda UK have ignored your specific question, but not only have they ignored my specific questions they have ignored me totally.

You have your car now, you do not ever have to face Kettering Honda again and you have been offerred more from Honda UK then others from this forum, some of whom like Geoff for instance who has battled for months and months trying to get things sorted out.

Just enjoy your car and let it go now, I do not meant to be rude or sound un-caring as I do understand the frustration at being ignored etc but I don't think you are going to get what you are looking for from Kettering, certainly not geniune anyway.

I take your comments on board ,
you are correct it is a great upset loosing parents
my dad died when i was 19, i gave him the kiss off life
then ran to the phone box to call an ambulance, unfortunately my dad had such a severe heart attack he died,

the major upset was that we had phoned for a doctor to come out he arrived 3hrs latter just as the ambulance had been at the house 10 Min's trying to resuscitate my father he took a look at dad upstairs ,
came down to my mum and said the following.

THE DOCTOR SAID WITHOUT ANY COMPASSION I told him he would die if he did not pack up smoking and drinking I WAS RIGHT.

now i wrote a letter about this how disrespectfully my mother was treated, i asked for an apology ,
i never got one .

maybe you will understand how much being disrespected means to me more than any money or any compensation thats why i get so upset ,
i stick by principles and cannot be brought compensation does not even come into the equation .

sorry about your loss

seems that people may think i am sad going on

kindest regards peter

Peter

It is very sad what happened to your father, and believe me I know how little compassion some doctors/nurses can show. My brother was 17 and 19 when our parents died, and losing them made me really appreciate how precious life is which is why I am going to say this,

The thing is you are happy with your car right? Don't waste any more time worrying about Kettering, because you do not have to deal with them again, its happened, they were rude and it has obviously deeply offended you but any apology you get will not be sincere. It is a sad fact that in this World there are very many rude and selfish people who just dont care.

Take the free service (you will be glad of it next year) and the money for the wheel and put this behind you - life is too short.

Having said that I have in fact sat here for the last 2 hrs putting together yet another letter to Honda UK practically begging them for some answers

It concerns me that you chose to have this little joke whilst in the middle of such sombre & heartfelt set of posts. May I suggest you restrict "jokes" to more light-hearted threads so as not to dilute the content & make people (ie. me) doubt your sincerity?

it was done because my dad was happy go lucky and would find that funny , he would always jokes about

a fond memory of mine was when i was young
my dads birthday i was totally skint

i said to my dad its the thought that counts, Ive though about it and did not buy you a present. it is the thought that counts though,
my dad laughed so much he said thats the best present i have ever had,
(before some one comments and says any bad comment i brought my dad a present at a latter date)

so please do not patronize me about my sincerity

I did read it, several times and still don't know what you are complaining about or why you have written to Japan who (as has been pointed out to you) have absolutely nothing to do with the service you recieved in kettering.

If I recieved that letter I would have filed under 'shred'.

Sorry man, I just don't get it.
