Unhappy What is a warranty worth?

How is it that some dealers can replace the dash, and others not???
Surely it is down to Honda in the end to OK it, why does it seem to be the dealer who decides?
I just cant make sense of this. I'm one of the unlucky ones whose dealer WONT replace under warranty!!!

that's not good

have you another dealer nearby?

bear in mind that whilst the dealer does get paid by Honda for warranty work, Honda also set how much per job.

If the dealer thinks they are only going to make £2.50 from the job (made up figure, I have no idea how much really!), they might find a 'good' reason not to do it.

Definately NOT saying that is the case here - but might be worth getting a second opinion

I had mine replaced because the stupid garage that fixed my accident repair scratched it big time. Honda replaced it (my insurance company paid) but they replaced it with a scratched one, that is why mine is being done under warranty now.

I know itrs frustrating when it seems others are getting something your not

I know my dealer would not make the decison without contacting Honda first. They then agreed to it without any issues. Maybe its a timing issue too.

I picked my car up just before the Easter Weekend, and then brought the car back the first working day after the holiday. Maybe if after what they feel is an acceptable period time, they walk away from the issue and try and blame the individual for the damage, therefore no replacment is forthcoming.

Mine was replaced yesterday and I am very pleased that I have a scratch free interior.

I also plugged Civinfo and the service manager had actually checked out the site and agreed it was a very usefull site. He did also comment that he felt Honda were walking away from a lot of the issues raised on here which is worrying.

I would keep plugging away or try another dealer as it is really a design issue.
