  • Ford Granada : my mate's car - so drunk that he couldn't drive - I took over (almost as bad as he was) - fence post \ ditch \ field

My first car which I got on my 17th birthday (2010), loved it to bits and was planning to keep it for a long long time but someone had other plans. December 2011 I was doing my usual drive back home which I had done many times and joined the last round-a-bout of my journey and as I'm going around it to turn right (with my indicator on) a lorry decides to join from the left of me without looking or stopping (the lane he was coming from has a stop & give way sign just before you join the round-a-bout) and straight into the side of me, spun me around 3 times then come to a stop on the pavement. I only suffered a bruised thumb so I was very lucky for my life that day but was still devastated about my car and actually cried because of that. The car would start (after I put the fuel back on) but had no transmission, wouldn't move in any gear. Got it checked out and the bill came to £13k+ so very sadly it was a write-off. Still miss it to this day as it was a fantastic car. Luckily I had changed my rage alloys to my winter ones a couple days before it happened so only cheap rota ones got mashed.

This was my car that i had wanted for years, eg6 sir!!!

I had a phone call, my dad ran out of diesel and left his wallet at home. He was only in derby so like 20miles away.

Driving along the A50 to derby, came to a line of slow vehicles..... as you do pull out into the fast lane and speed up to overtake........ i was doin about 80ish as the clocks were in km/h and a truck just pulled out infront of me, slammed the brakes on and counter the lift off oversteer as the back went light and stepped out.

By this time i thought i caught, carrying too much momentum it just swung the other way and in an attempt to catch again it gripped the front and threw me into a 15ft ditch through 8 tree's and landing bottom down on a wooden fence.

The truck driver had a lapse in concentration, never noticed a van broken down with cones in the road and pulled out last second. Never even noticed me and never stopped.
Makes me feel like crying to this day.

Had an accident in my 2.2 Type-s 2 years ago.
Was going round a roundabout not 1 mile from where I live, I was going straight ahead and there was a car turning right going round with me. I noticed that they were getting a little too close for my liking in my lane and I was as far over as I could be. Unbeknown to me the traffic had stopped on the roundabout ahead of me as there was a pedestrian crossing just off the exit. And the rest is history.

Car got repaired by Honda, £3.5k of damage and I traded it in about 2 months later for a 1.8 EX. Not a scratch on the passat that I rear ended! Car was like new after the repair, there wasn't a scratch or door ding on it before this either. Still miss this car now. So if anyone now has NL10OPC, oops.

Here's my first ever car somebody decided to pull across me into a side road and I hit him at 60mph shoving me into some fencing.

My old megane coupe. I pull in on a single track road to give way. The guy claimed he didn't see me ( he did, he was going way too fast, hit his brakes and his wheels locked up) still went 50/50.

Had 2 write offs, first was purely inexperience, black ice and country roads + a car with the handling of a shopping trolley = disaster!

Click the image to open in full size.Click the image to open in full size.

Slid out round the bend, ending up missing an oncoming car by inches, not sure what I hit but ended up on my side in the ditch - this was after we dropped it back to its wheels! Luckily i escaped without a scratch

http://i1171.photobucket.com/albums/...a/IMAG0388.jpg

Second was my lack of attention coupled with someone changing lanes infront of us at lights. Car pulled out, 1st car braked, 2nd car braked, I didnt have time (too close) best thing to ever happen to that pile of sh*t car anyway, got £1200 for that off the insurance!
