Now that my civ' is about 6 months old, a few bizarre problems are starting to rear their heads. Take as read the sticking fuel filler cap (had one fix apparently but still unreliable), awful HFT mike and unidentified clonking sounds from the back - haven't had a chance to get the car back to the dealer but will need to do so before a jaunt accross France next month.

No, I have had some really odd things happen. The driver's side electric window sometimes goes up instead of down and vice-versa... What's all that about then? The satnav system refused to navigate anywhere from anywhere else for one day, then sorted itself out. Bit worried about multiplexing electrical problems since a nightmarish end-of-ownership experience with a Renault Scenic before the civ.

Elsewhere, the boot carpet is pulling away from the floor in the boot, the dash seems to scratched to hell (despite my never cleaning it with anything else than a lens cleaning cloth) and I've kerbed my gorgeous 18" storms twice (my bad!). What's more I watched a stupid female colleague throw the door of her crappy Fiat Bravo open onto my car! First parking ****... (hello! why did the word "dent" get asterisked out? Big Brother doesn't like the "d" word?!)

However, I wouldn't swap it for the world! Unless Honda cared to create a high-output diesel type-R style 5-door... Is that wrong of me?!

Did you have the spring clip fix for the fuel cap? If so, push it towards the pin a lot - it will spring back of course but should be far enough over to latch the correct side of the latch on the flap & then work ok.

Also the HFT seems better if you speak normally rather than follow the temptation to raise your voice volume.

I have an odd clunk on the rumble strips on my way into the car park at work - doesn't happen anywhere else so keeping an eye on that one before poking the dealer about it.

I use nowt but a microfibre on mine & noticed hundreds of fine scratches in the sunlight - similar to the scratches you inevitably get on the paintwork like the wind has scratched it.

Despite the niggles I have to agree - fantastic car.
