Question Going to the stealers today!!

Hey peeps!!

Just want to say that this site kicks ass. A big thank you to everyone who has posted all the problems that they have been experiencing with the civic. We got our civic about a month ago (1.8 es, cosmic grey 2006). We love the car but have had most of the common problems -: loud thuds when going over small bumps/pot holes, interior rattling, scratched dash, small bit of paper sticking out of the drivers side pillar air bag, hissing/grinding brake noise when braking.

I love the car but i'm thinking of exchanging it for 2007 1.8 ex. Does anyone have similar problems with their 2007 honda or has Honda pulled their socks up and sorted out all the niggling problems?

My 2007 EX 1.8 is fine. My only niggle is the i-shift, I think they need to rework the software again. It holds on to 1st far too long for my liking and does not change down quick enough when you need the extra power.

Mine does that, but just assumed it was down to the new eco friendly materials in the brake pads.

Let us know if it is deemed as a fault.

My 2007 EX is great except for the cd player overheats if the air con is on! In all fairness Honda agreed to change the stereo without any hassels, just waiting on the part. I've had none of the other faults that have been reported though

The gut feeling is that the 07 cars are better, but I'll try and find out something more scientific when I analyse the survey data in a couple of days.

Don't think the software needs any fixing kremmen - that is just the way it
is when you stick your foot down. now if it was doing it in normal conditions then I would say you had cause for concern

Picked up the car from the stealers this afternoon. Really p....d of with them as they did'nt sort anything out. Dash has more scratches then it did before. Dealer told me that there is nothing more we can do about it. Stonechips are still there (these were there before we handed over the cash & was told that they would be touched up!!). Door card which had a rip on one corner, looks like they put some hard blu tak and painted it black. Very shoddy. They said the suspension is fine...'We checked the springs which are fine' he said. (It still makes loud thudding noise going over the smallest pot holes). It seems like they have'nt even attempted to address these problems. I'm going to speak to someone senior tomorrow to try and get these things sorted. I'm sure i read somewhere here that they have a replacement for the dash. Also i'm 100% sure that the dampers/shocks need replacing.

Has anyone had their dash replaced with a newer scratch proof one. The car has just over 6k on the clock. Is it normal that the shocks/dampers are replaced at this early stage??

We really do love our car but after spending almost 15k you would expect better service

They can replace the shiny black part of the dash, the rev counter perspex and also the speedo and radio display section. Don't let them palm you off over this. The instrument binacles are seperate to these parts too so don't let them try and tell you its not possible due to cost of repalcing instrumentation etc.....
