air con check?

How do folks

Is there a diagnostic for checking the air con system?
I recently got a 2006 ESI and when the air con is on, it belts out hot heat even when its cold!
Is there anyway of checking the gas level myself? Took it to kwik fit and they said that theres plently of gas, im not so sure though.
Dealer wasnt much use either, wanted 80 quid to investigate and not to fix it!

Any help would be great

Cheers

you can still have your aircon on while the temp is set to 25c, so would be hot, is your temp dial faulty??

Hmmm not sure mate,

Temp seems to display correctly and changes properly when the air con is off.

Quick question guys,

Does the Air con system use the outside air temperature sensor?
If this sensor is not working, will the air con not work?

I leave the floor open to suggestions

Flyboy13,
I assume your car has Climate Control in which case there are a good few sensors, incuding outside temp, which determine the temp of the air pushed out.

Press Auto, select temp, does the cabin reach that temp ? No, then it's faulty, the dealer must investigate and fix it under warranty. Remember, you've paid for that warranty.
