Right, it's not something in the upper air duct - used a flexi piece of plastic all the way through there and there was no change. In fact, it sounds like it's a lot lower than that - underneath the steering wheel. I've gotten all of the plastic out though, so perhaps the source is somewhere else and the sound just appears to be coming from there? I'm really stuck now as there literally isn't any more plastic trim around the dash/steering wheel I can remove to try and find the source!

Indeed it does; I've not given up yet. Anyone looking into the car would probably think it's nicked from all the interior trim I've removed! Next step is to get the plastics around the gearstick off - but might wait until I've got a Dension or xcarlink to fit as can do that at the same time!!

Found It

Well after removing most of the dash and finding nothing I eventually found what was sliding about. It looks like the previous owner dropped a coin between the dash and the windscreen and it was rolling about in a small pocket there. I wedged a piece of foam down there and I've not heard a peep since.

I had the same problem, previous owner had dropped 20p in to an air vent, it was found in the heater box/system.

Good luck
